  1. is there a vacancy somewhere for a Papal Legate?
  2. Raith at Ibrox. So long as the result doesn't mirror a certain 2 - 3 after 'Gers had led 2 - 0. Bye bye Willie T. Hello, hello Slim Jim though we weren't doing a lot of welcoming that day.
  3. Look at the determination on Ian McColl's face in the photo above. McColl, Woodburn, Cox. A half line of footballing hard men. Were Greig, McKinnon, Baxter better? I can't quite see who's behind George Niven because of that big polis (Bobby Hume, perhaps) then come Caldow, Baird and Scott. What players we had! Well, maybe not big Sammy, right enough but we could do with him now.
  4. I know all the devil's tunes. Doesn't mean I follow Satan. I'm way ahead of him. In fact the tims have forgotten the best tune they ever had and I'm not going to remind them. On second thoughts they probably leave it out on purpose - no sectarianism, no republicanism, so no good for modern timothy.
  5. Enbjoyed the match. Good old fashioned game of football.
  6. Hmmmmm. Interesting proposition but the post title makes me uneasy. Were you there on that fateful day?
  7. What's the logic of conceding home advantage to ROI?
  8. Yep. Everything points that way. Already the new strip has a 'ticcy look to it.
  9. "Hampden holds the European record attendance for an international match and world record for a club match plus UEFA competition record and still holds every major European record there is." Yes, but that was a different Hampden. Marvellous arena unless you like these new-fangled, soulless places.
  10. We're on our way to Paradise! Actually Murrayfield makes perfect sense if sensible co-operation with the rugger chappie could be achieved. Can't see it happening, though. The rugby guys would be all right but the SFA?
  11. At least they've abandoned the ould boys from the dear land across the sea syndrome.
  12. If he does well he could work his way up to something like assistant manager at the Villa.
  13. Better photies of KM. What a difference a collar and tie make. Old Fogeys Loyal.
  14. Looking good for Uruguay and Costa Rica. I still say the winners will be Brazentinaguay.
  15. England giving Ecuador a decent game. Oh, wait. It should be the other way round, shouldn't it? 2 - 2 with minutes to go. I wonder how much the Ecuador national team would cost to buy in a job lot, except Valencia, whom we couldn't afford.
  16. Sounds like adspeak promo huffing and puffing. Not long ago the Club didn't have to sell STs. You had to queue to get on to the waiting list. There will be umpteen thousand STs available when they release a new tranche. Could be this afternoon. Could be tomorrow.
  17. Rejection must take place as soon as the defect manifests itself. You could say that you intimated an intention to reject when the shirt became a duffer but you didn't follow it up by sending it back there and then. Keep on at them though. They might get fed up and give you a new one for the sake of peace.
  18. Shouldn't have left it so long, Ser B.
  19. Can't make up my mind. Somebody do it for me while I decide if Thornton, Stein or Super plays as the other striker. (I've still to rule out Jimmy Millar)
  20. He's doing it for Ross County not ICT. Two ugly sisters from my point of view. Raw prejudice aside, the bloke is right.
  21. At the very least it's a real contest. Shades of Eubanks v Benn. Froch might win. On the other hand it could be Groves. Think I've got that covered.
