The two outstanding are di Stefano and Puskas. Then come the others and plenty of them. Gento, Mazzola, Schiaffino for the relics among us.

There were two players, not big names but caused Rangers no end of trouble, Grillo of AC in 1957 and Johnny Crossan, Irish Republican, of Sparta Rotterdam 1960ish.

Collum booked Ryan Jack but was asked by VAR to review it as a straight red. Collum (no doubt reluctantly) went to the pitch side to look at the monitor but stuck with his decision to give a yellow. Who was the VAR? None other than Nick Walsh.

Collum is not the most evil. He is scared though.

Palace v Everton this evening not up to much. Reckon Arbroath v Morton might be more exciting.

’Spurs v Burnley tomorrow and Makems v Mags on Saturday might be better.

Arsenal v Liverpool on Monday the main event but I don’t know if it’s on the telly.
