D'Art deserves our greatest admiration for his tenacity. It must be taking hours of his time and no small, part of his treasure if he's got solicitors doing some of the work. HMRC should not get away with waffling. There are only two sources of leaked information. One is someone from SDM's side. Unlikely I would have thought. The other is HMRC. Surely there is an onus on them to establish that they are not guilty. I don't believe for one moment that any football club or senior politician was involved in the theft of information from HMRC. Much more likely is a mid to high level operator within HMRC with access to the case and with a season ticket to the jungle. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

WBA and S'land creeping to safety. Praise be. Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff for the drop.

That's the manager's job, though, isn't it? Fix the attitude. Stein did it with a team of duffers at Parkhead, then, whaddaya know? Nine in a row.

Was there not a shot of him on the telly after a Rangers goal, on his feet, arms stretched out in triumph, cheering wildly while those about him in the Directors' Box applaud quietly? However, just because you are a fan, doesn't mean you're not a chancer or much worse.

JM's pretty good right enough. Planned for Gerrard to trip over his own feet. Pity he was outwitted by Pulis and Poyet.

"Jardine coming through the middle - he's a great player, this boy - shoots and it's a goal for Rangers." Not my words but those of David Francey in a radio commentary on Rangers v them very early in his career. The boy was a great player right enough. He became a great man.

Eddie is a Tim who has been to some (but not all) of the classes in an HND course in basic-business-law-for-the absolute- beginner-with-no-hope-of-going-further. I wonder if the lecturer was one James Spence.

Ahwuzzerrr! Saw the ball come back out to Kai. saw his foot go back. Next instant it's in the net! Truth be told we were lucky ovwr the 180 minutes especially the first 90. Thank God for Billy Ritchie. Second only to the Goalie. Old warhorse Jimmy Millar back to where he once belonged at left half. the order of succession after Billy was Martin, Sorensen, Neef. McCloy was next, much mocked for swinging on a crossbar but a better 'keeper than the previous three and generally did pretty well but not as good as Woods or Klos

Brit football star found dead in US
Scott7 replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in General Football Chat
I don't know anything at all about the poor chap except that he wasn't a football star. -
" Presumably you do have your tongue firmly in your cheek with this suggestion!" They might give a thought to Mourinho but I reckon it'll be Eck. Van Gaal is probably tearing up his Arsenal application but he hasn't a hope against McLeish.

Fracas follows Hearts' Jamie Hamill goal celebration
Scott7 replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Should have been a red card. What was Adams doing running out to block him? Yellow for him. Hope County go down. -
McLeish for OT?

Ha'way the lads! 'Pool's title now.or maybe City. Chelsea aren't out of it though.

"Old club"? Is that "old" as in "venerable" or "old" as in "former"?- 18 replies

dB was good enough to give me some tuition in German on one of our other forums so I assist him here with the great "somesuch" issue. A word it's not but a phrase "some such" it most certainly is. Should be the same as "somehow", "somewhere" or even "nonesuch" but it's not. Just another English language trap for the foreigner. dB avoids most of them. Cuellar was a cut above Bougherra who is several cuts above Moshni. Bit of a downward spiral there.

Can you imagine Sammy Cox or Bobby Shearer or Stuart McCall or any amount of others lucky to wear the blue coming out with the like of that?

I fear City have blown it. What happened the last time I thought that? It's either L'pool or Chelsea now. L'pool play the more spectacular football so I hope it's them. Can they carry the burden of my expectation or is the title bound for the Bridge?

"in more ways than one we need a Fergus McCann type at rangers. both to rescue us and to cease the gravy train." - gs. What's the wee guy doing these days? We could be doing with someone not very keen on the celtic-minded. Rescued them from insolvency, built them a new stadium - ok, not the best but better than the old cp - bullied them into an appearance of acknowledging the Ibrox disaster, castigated a certain type of bigot and all in a few years. Walked off with a shilling or two at the end but at least he did a job for his dime and the tims don't like him. Perfect cv!

"do Scotsmen living in Scotland believe that anyone in exile is no longer a Scot/has forfeited their birthright due to living in a different country ...... ?" Nope. You're a Scots South African or a South African Scot. Only the SNP think otherwise. If the McFuhrer wins you'll have to apply for Scottish citizenship - if you still want it by that time.

Manchester City to be made to pay a high price.........
