McCoist receives OBE for services to sport and broadcasting
Scott7 replied to compo's topic in Rangers Chat
On closer inspection, yes. Polished and laced but the edges of the soles aren’t properly blackened and without heels they look a bit like bootees, so 10% off for that. On the other hand they might have been ghillie brogues with the wee tassels so he gets his 10% back so long as he remembers to sharpen up a bit for next time. -

Well done, Ally for turning up well attired and not looking like a pantomime Rob Roy on Hallowe’en -
I’ve just had a few minutes of Radio S commentary. Oh, the fear in McLeod’s voice.

Let’s not be coy. It’s only halftime and Dortmund have scored FIVE. The visiting team has scored as well. Just once. I don’t want Dortmund easing up. No plucky fightbacks, thank you.

Baxter was a far better player than either Shearer or Greig but he was never a captain. Barron’s got what it takes to captain the side and he’ll never be as good a player as Ferguson. -
Teams still in the tunnel when McLeod began to squeal his delight about who’s going to catch celtic. Then the Hibs’ SC win before kickoff and Gray’s goal just after. Q

Can’t see United offering the job to a waistcoat. Mourinho the Return is more likely than that.

United beaten at home by ‘Spurs. The end for the manager? Who will take the job?

It traditional to struggle badly in the next match after a euro tie. Usually the better the euro result the greater the struggle. In fact this would normally have been a 0-1 defeat so I’m pleasantly surprised. -

History says Malmö. -
Naismith’s departure was inevitable. He was my tip in the competition. Too obvious, I suppose and I ignored ex-Hearts man, Levein. A pattern developing. Any other former Gorgie boys in hot seats?

How did Cameron play? -
This is what you said, old bean. ”Hampden may have been the only solution, so why wasn't it agreed way before it was? Why did we wait so long given the reality was that industry standards suggest all projects over run?” An implication of adverse consequences, otherwise why ask the question? One of your complaints was delay in procuring an alternative venue.
-
Such as compelling the contractors to order double materials from separate sources? That would be expensive. Hampden was the only feasible alternative stadium and that’s what came to pass. Perhaps short notice gave the SFA the chance to uplift the hire out charges. Again, I don’t know one way or the other.
-
I thought the only shambolic bit was the delivery of the Chinese steel and there’s nothing the Board could have done about that. Do you know if the contractors are under penalty for overrun? I don’t. I hope they are but perhaps they are not. As Gonzo says, not many large building contracts complete on time. Not many small ones either. Emirates was an outstanding exception. I wonder how the Everton stadium is doing.

Exciting player in the penalty box. My wife knows nothing about football and can’t understand why men waste time on it but she was so impressed by Schilaci, she called one of her cats after him.
