  1. Shows how much I know given my prediction this am. It's good to be wrong.
  2. This was suppsed to be done Monday/Tuesday. Not going to happen. And if Sunderland really want Lescott that's where he'll go.
  3. Of course! Idiot!
  4. Hmm. Banks, Shilton, Clemence and before them Frank Swift. But nothing since.
  5. No need to paint it on a wall, though. Why give them the opportunity to indulge in self righteousness?
  6. What would Gunners give for a Ray Parlour? Wenger probably wouldn't pick him. Or Ray Kennedy.
  7. Koscielny, Ozil and Giroud would have made a difference but over the season will they make enough of a difference?
  8. Scot Symon's instruction to Davis, Telfer and Shearer was to win the tackle and give the ball to Ian (McMillan) or Jim (Baxter)
  9. Lescott was pretty good at Everton, over-priced at City and not up to much at Villa. But he's not scared and can defend a bit.
  10. Baggies champs? That would do nicely. I see John Terry played last night. Thought he was finished. Never a Beckenbauer but if you like your centre halves to defend, captain the team and score a goal or two Terry's the benchmark.
  11. Disinfect, perhaps?
  12. l Are you sure, dB? The mind boggles.
  13. Thought Biobanding was the Thailand centre half.
  14. Dundee playing in a very smart strip. Especially the socks.
  15. Perhaps a little too enthusiastic about celtic though I don't like the look of Sinclair but a reasonable assessment of Rangers' weaknesses. Perhaps he reads Gersnet.
  16. A sizeable number of celtic supporters enjoy political posturing much more than the football.
  17. I mind fine when young Penman was signed. Didn't perform for Rangers as well as he did for Dundee. How often does that happen? At Dundee he was part of a beautifully balanced side at its peak. Rangers were in decline when he joined.

I'd forgotten that Dixie rendition of the Follow Follow. Epic. Whaurs yer flutes an' accordians noo, eh?
  19. The relevant part of Law 12: "Direct free kick A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: charges jumps at kicks or attempts to kick pushes strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt) tackles or challenges trips or attempts to trip" Note the words "careless, reckless or using excessive force". That is more than just contact. If the player says what Walker said that sounds as if he himself made the decision to fall down rather than being knocked down or even knocked off balance.
  20. Fine analyst of the game and a master of descriptive language. Never mind, Tomas, your big team should do it tomorrow night.
  21. Normal service resumed. In his (ahem) exhuberance, will Petrie give lennon his jotters?
  22. Only half as good as Fan Fan.
  23. Hard to disagree with any of that, except Everton are in the long term a step up from So'ton. So long as either City or Arsenal are Champs and Sunderland and West Brom are respectable I'll be pleased and I don't want Burnley to go down.
  24. Even nowadays you need more than just contact.
