  1. Wallsall trying to muscle in on the Baggies?
  2. Wolves. Wednesday. Forest.
  3. What's all this sand dancing? Step up and whack the bloody thing unless you're Johnny Hubbard. He had a laser guidance device before they were invented.
  4. He didn't sy that when Rangers were trouncing everybody at home but stumbling in Europe.
  5. That's quite amusing.
  6. Got his jotters from Rotherham, apparently. Glittering opportunity for Lennon at south Yorkshire superstars.
  7. Wrong again, Eck. He had a good Hampden record though.
  8. Deserved black eye for the Crown Office and the Police but in fact, in the circumstances before the judges, no effect one way or the other on Rangers.
  9. Ahem.........
  10. And the prince of them all Ha Ha Haffey.
  11. Ah, "probes" and "snubs". What a perfect tabloid day.
  12. I think you've covered all the options there but in fact you're right. A draw it won't be.

    Lafferty

Handy lad on league decider day, though.
  14. City pummelled Everton. Toffees' 'keeper was fantastic. Not the penalties. My granny could have saved these but any amount of other brilliant stops.
  15. "I fancy them to get a draw today though. " How did you do that? Well done Baggies Monday night's the big event.
  16. Very important day for Everton. My early season confidence in them is waning.
  17. Nothing much. Not his fault. He was a finisher. Somebody else had to make the chances. After Rangers the teams he played for couldn't do that so well.
  18. No. There are a lot of decent football clubs playing in nice towns. Why inflict on them two visits by the spalpeens?
  19. Griffiths can play right enough. Everybody's got to be good at something. Tartan Army reported to be jeering. Surely not.
  20. It was indeed, Boabie. Both Alec Scott and Davie were out injured as was the 'keeper, Bill Brown.
  21. Davie Wilson - heart of a lion. Note his comment on Ian McMillan. He wasn't powerful. He wasn't fast over a distance but his rifled passes inside the fullback made a winger's job easy. Plenty of speed in the brain and the feet.
  22. Sorry, Boabie. Some stones are best left unturned.
  23. I should have mentioned above that I had never heard of any of the Chesterfield players except Bonnyman, released by Rangers as not good enough. He scored.
  24. Anglo-Scottish Cup season 1980/81. First leg, 13 October 1980: Rangers 1, Chesterfield 1 Second leg, 28 October 1980: Chesterfield 3, Rangers 0 Rangers team included McLoy, Jardine, Forsyth, Jackson, Bett and Russell. Awful football event. Two games make it no fluke.
  25. Defeat by Chesterfield - yes, Chesterfield - over two legs is my most miserable memory.
