  1. 5th round derbies Fulham v 'Spurs and Rovers v United. Gunners to Sutton and Wolves get Chelsea. Boro' or Oxford can slip under the radar to round 6.
  2. 4 - 0, so no..
  3. 'Spurs 2 down at half time at home to Wycombe and Kane Hemmings scores for Oxford against the Magpies. Oxford win 3 - 0! Hotspurs come back to 2 - 2, go down to 2 - 3 then make it 4 - 3 in added time.
  4. Liverpool out 1 - 2 against Wolves. The ghosts of the mighty 50s Wanderers must have been on the pitch at Anfield today.
  5. "..... McColl to Billy Simpson Here come the boys in blue He beats the celtic centre half And in goes number two ....." A verse from an old refrain.
  6. Collector's item.
  7. Not even the mhedia can hype up nineteen polnts. The gap is patent..
  8. It was indeed
  9. Turned many a fullback in his day - mostly inside out.
  10. Complain to Sky. Tims would in droves. I would have thought that their Pontiff would have been a prior target.
  11. Just short of probably.
  12. Almost but not quite.
  13. Not just Scotch refs who make rubbish decisions.
  14. Shame they didn't have a decent dram to put in it.
  15. Swans swimming all over the 'Pool. 0 - 2 early second half. 1 - 2 as I type. 2 - 2 then 2 - 3 as edit!
  16. Arbroath 36 - Bon Accord 0, SC First Round tie 1885.
  17. Motherwell was never a team I disliked until the play-off match. I wonder if any of the pitch invaders were tims in disguise. Old-timers' grannies will remember their post-war 'keeper, Johnstone, who had the longest throw out in world football. He could throw the ball all the way from the goal line at Fir Park to Kilmarnock. The Scottish national selectors sometimes used to pick their half back Redpath ahead of Samy Cox. At least Redpath could play a bit so it wasn't on a par with the selection of James Forrest uncle of Jim at inside right instead of the Airdrie genius Ian McMillan or even former hibbee Bobby Johnstone dazzling at Manchester City. They had a smashing team 1960/61. A half line of Aitken, Martis and McCann and a sublime front line of Hunter, Reid, St John, Quinn and Weir. Reid went on to play for Berwick but we'll gloss over that. You could say Rangers have had both the best and the worst from Motherwell in Tam Forsyth and Gregor Stevens. One of them a hard as nails, tough tackling, uncompromising, indomitable defender. The other? Best to say nothing. There have been some thrilling cup-ties involving Rangers and Motherwell. Let's hope for another. 5 - 2 would do nicely.
  18. Nothing wrong with the bloke's accent. He's getting beat in the replay on C4+1.
  19. St'nhive???
  20. Everton should be good enough to beat Palace but they might take it too easy after demolishing City last week. How often do we see that in SPL? I think both Hammers and Hotspurs could win.
  21. An absolutely reliable stalwart of a full back. Oh for the likes of him today. No dashing forays down the wing - leave that to the wingers - but a tradesman defender keeping out the opposition. Not one of the "star names" but like Willie Rae loyal to the Rangers whether in the team or out of it. Would have been capped for Scotland if he hadn't been born in Canada.
  22. Apart from strict liability offences, a person must be found to have had the intention to commit the crime of which he is accused. Being blootered mindless by drink, however, is not accepted as a defence. Slightly illogical, perhaps, but practical.
  23. "What we've got is a 10+m team that looks like a 4m one." - Calscot. Exactly.
  24. I'd prefer the Hotspurs to the other two.
  25. The team doesn't look fit. Of course you can say they've been run ragged by a much more skilful side but I've seen some teams, mostly English, still with plenty of effort and gritted teeth even on the end of a hiding.
