  1. As expected Liverpool lost. 3 - 1 Leicester.
  2. Funny how our memories have no bother with the photo.

    Best Gers XI

True. But add on Harry Davis, Alex Scott, Davy Provan, George McLean and Jim Forrest and you've got a five year squad.

    Best Gers XI

See poster #16. Knows sod all about Rangers. Should have gone: Ritchie Jardine Butcher DJ Robertson Wullie van Bronkhorst Souness Wilson Mols Stein

    Best Gers XI

I've done this dozens of times and never picked the same XI twice but here goes. Goram. Caldow Gough McKinnon Cox Laudrup Greig Gascoigne Baxter McCoist Hateley Can't believe I've chosen McCoist and Hateley ahead of Millar and Brand. And no Wullie or Ian McColl. I'll be back in the afternoon with something different. Then again at night.
  6. Good team. Lost 3 - 4 at Villa in a league " decider".
  7. Atkinson or Allen?
  8. Oh yes. Clyde are an absolutely wonderful footballing side. Easily holding their own mid-table in SFL 2 or League 4 as it's truly known.
  9. Well, what do I know? Albion flying high. Pulis must not go.

  11. Another Sunday goal made easy by defending my granny would have been ashamed of.
  12. 0 - 1 at HT. For fifteen minutes they looked like a Rangers team and got tired or dispirited or bored and then, as dB would say, from nothing a Sunday goal. I say nothing but in fact inadequate defending had a bit to do with it.
  13. Chelsea will score four. Palace won't beat Boro. Sunderland won't score. I agree about Bournemouth. Hammers will sneak a win. 'Spurs will whack Stoke. I don't trust Liverpool. United will win by four.
  14. Failing to meet the due date doesn't let you off, Rab. If it did I'd try it with my Council Tax.
  15. What his Lordship said was straight out of the book of tim hopespeak. But there is nothing about his background to suggest that he would have the remotest interest in football let alone Rangers and the other lot.
  16. I don't fancy anyone on the Paddy Power book except just maybe Jimmy Calderwood to try to get us to a level of basic competence but then what? A better idea is to 'phone Conte at Chelsea, play the Blues Brothers card and ask if he knows anyone good looking for a challenge.
  17. Is Willem van Hanegem a relation of the wee Feyenoord genius, Israel van H, who ruined celtic in a Euro final?
  18. I think Bluedell could be right. English courts have a tradition of "common sense". They call it Equity. Three of the judges are Englsh but of these Lord Carnwath is thought to be conservative and possibly Lord Neuberger too. M'Lords Hodge and Reed, the Scotsmen? Who knows?
  19. Baxter had a greater genius but didn't always deploy it like Laudrup.
  20. Lot of truth in that. Rangers are still poor, though.
  21. Tommy Gemmell was the first attacking or "overlapping" fullback that I can think of in Scottish football just as Danny Ferguson of the Hearts was the first defensive forward. But if its hipster fullbacks you're looking for Tiger Shaw and Bobby Shearer are the men you want.
  22. They had two good results then stopped playing.
  23. Very interesting. If he could afford a good lawyer he might have a bit of sport with the wording of the regulation.
  24. Better to let Murty get it over with. He's got nothing to lose. A new guy comes in to a debut hammering and he's off on the back foot. Murty will deserve considerable gratitude for standing on the burning deck.
  25. Right enough, PNE haven't been up to much since Howard Kendall left for Everton but Tom Finney played for them and sentiment rules.
