  1. Liverpool - Melwood. MUFC- Carrington. These are well known names without the club name attached. Strangely, I don't know where Arsenal, 'Spurs or Chelsea train. I think "Rangers: Auchenhowie" would be fine.
  2. And hundreds of Sebos, Sionkos and Mladenovics. Not to mention Capuchos and Stensaasses. If we have enough money we could get a Konterman.
  3. Out of respect to Her Majesty, I never sing the National Anthem.
  4. See Yoofa? Bunch o' pyoor early Eurasian tribesmen so they are an' aw.
  5. Drinks Member in Saudi of all places. Is that where you got your DSO?
  6. Outer Hebrides - good bear country.
  7. If he's half the defender Roberts was, he'll be fine.
  8. Only seen bits of matches - none from start to finish - but England look like favourites. Never seen an English side attack so much.
  9. Is it not a matter for Police Scotland? I know it's normal for police officers who witness public disorder to exaggerate what they have seen, but is this fellow not just making things up? The Commission can't look at a statement made by a non-football individual days after the event, surely.
  10. Excellent. At last an articulate expression of the facts without hysterics. The spelling and grammar are fine too. It does make a difference.
  11. I was into my 20s when it dawned on me that England might overtake Scotland in head-to-head victories. Look what happened.
  12. "Own goal" Brown.? No thank you. Anichebe from WBA maybe?
  13. I knew you were old, Compo, but jings crivvens
  14. Thanks. I understand that better now.
  15. That is well written and an eye opener for readers like me whose knowledge of tacticsl set-ups is pretty shallow. One thing. How can you have two pivots? Is that not a one man job no matter what unit of the team he is playing in? Of course the elderly see the word "pivot" and immediately think of Big Ben, Geordie Young and last of the line, Willie T.
  16. He got that one well wrong didn't he. If I were looking for a job now in journalism, law, local govt., arts or any of the other jessie professions I'd be changing my current anglo-norman name to something more celtish. McGuire even.
  17. Vardy's great assets apart from instinctive finishing are his anticipation of when a colleague is going to make pass/cross and electric movement to where the ball is going. Takes playing time to adjust that anticipation to new team mates who in turn have to learn what movement Vardy is most likely to make.
  18. Useful when there are league deciders to be won otherwise not up to much.
  19. Hugh Shaw, Walter Galbraith, Bob Shankly, Eddie Turnbull but now Lennon. Downfall of a once respectable club
  20. "Rangers target Niko Kranjcar's father ........" Who does he play for? Will he not be a bit old?
  21. Better than the "golden generation" a few years back? They certainly play nice un-English football. Kane and Ali are terrific players. So is Vardy in a system that suits him. Not so sure about the defence nder the sort of pressure that Spain or Germany can exert.
  22. "The 'mysterious' bike found in a storeroom full of dust that today adorns the trophy room. Willie Thornton says Racing Club of Paris gave us it. The name of the club 'Racing' sounds as if it could be more than the truth" The "racing" refers to foot racing.
