  1. O/s yes but not handball. The ball was lammered against Konscielny.
  2. 'Spurs 2 City 0. Some league, this.
  3. United 1 Stoke 1. How does this happen? Zillion pound team and star manager at home against tradesmen, albeit pretty competent tradesmen. Might help some of our more incredulous fans to understand Rangers' results v Accies and County.
  4. This is great work you do. Decrepitude prevents my assistance. Taxis when Mr Henderson was fourteen would have been horse-drawn so maybe not so surprising that he drove one.
  5. If kids are bored at the football, don't take them. Then they can be bored at home.
  6. The Scots lassie on SSN has just said with a straight face that this is Rangers' first win in the Glasgow derby for eight years. The truth - but not the whole truth.
  7. And Nico scores Thistle dominating according to BT.
  8. Niko might manage the old Ian McMillan role but McMillan had strong men behind him and fast energetic finishers in front. Poor old Nico doesn't.

    New Anthem

None of the above. Nothing to beat the old Follow Follow but the choir will have to be trained to sing it more slowly and in a lower key.
  10. The self styled "Scottish Goverment" displeased with the panel outcome apparently. Bit of a surprise unless they're miffed because Rangers have escaped punishment.
  11. That's Moyes out the door at Sunderland and they can get Allardyce back. Oh, wait ......
  12. In the good old days the City of Glasgow Police were never slow to stop folk from climbing the wall though I accept that even they could have done nothing to stop the Hibs invasion. They would, however, have intervened early and decisively and there might have been twenty or thirty in Court on the Monday. Unfair on the twenty or thirty, no doubt, but that sort of action discourages the others at a future event. Break ins were comparatively rare and didn't impede the progress of the game the exception being a notorious match at Ibrox. Don't worry it wasn't the Rangers. Neutral venue for a Scottish Cup semi-final, celtic three - nil down to St Mirren fifteen minutes to go. One set of fans was disgruntled and invaded the field in big numbers and it wasn't Buddies upset bcause their goal tally wasn't big enough. I can't rememberwhat punishment, if any, was given to celtic but as John Mc says, you couldn't expect the Kellys, the Whites and the Devlins to race on to the pitch to restrain their fans' exhuberance. They did the next best thing. They conceded the tie. If that happened today, the host club would have been heavily fined, Ibrox removed from the venue list and a replay ordered at celtic park on the basis that a game at Hampden would give the winning team an advantage over the other finalist and other than cp no other ground would have been big enough.
  13. t gs, email Hibs and see what happens. More in sorrow than in anger, if you know what I mean.
  14. BT All Goals showed the last few minutes of City pressure. You must expect abuse from opposition fans when taking a corner but that prancing gangrel crew of snarling scarecrows are something else
  15. Pyoor biggutts City. Orange shirts an' blue shorts What Embassy can we complain to?
  16. Have you seen any of the Ross County match, r_s? Perhaps you were there. Did you think Rangers dominated that match? If not, did County?
  17. Nobody's being over critical of the 'keeper. In a perfect world he might have stood a bit nearer to his right post. Might have got it. Might not. He shouldn't be losing any sleep. The strike was brilliant. The player's young so he might do it again some time but probably not Saturday. That should be next match day. Saturdays have been abolished. As for Tav's goals, there's a difference from the goalkeeper's perspective between rockets on the run and free kicks. For the latter the 'keeper gets to set the agenda by his positioning and arrangement of the defence.
  18. Pity they hadn't been founded by a Welsh Methodist - their songs would have been much better.
  19. Burnley 2, Watford 0. Decent start to the season by Burnley.
  20. On here somewhere. You'll see an excellent penalty and a really good tackle by Tav.
  21. I think you're right. Hateley was useless to start with.
  22. Great thread, this, with many worthy names. I still think Willie Rae is the most notable. Here's what a gentleman named Mr Gub had to say about him in an article on FF. "Willie Rae came to Ibrox in 1946 and was mainly considered to be a half back. Any half back at Ibrox at that time was always going to be prepared to play a waiting game because Ian McColl and Sammy Cox were the first picks. Yet despite it all Willie played that waiting game as is testified by the fact that he made 181 appearances all told (inc war time) and won his two league badges in 46/47 and 55/56. That’s perseverance and loyalty to that blue jersey for you. Willie also had one League Cup (46/47) and one Scottish Cup badge (49/50) to add to his major domestic haul." Wouldn't happen today.
