  1. "We had one shot on target in 90 minutes and that was a weak effort"

Was that the rocket that poleaxed the defender who headed it out from under the bar, BH?

Apart from the offside goal we had two other net-boundish efforts s o on another day we could have had three goals. Hearts, it has to be said could have had five.

I thought the linesman looked quite pleased with himself.

  2. Every promoted side needs to be improved. Our only acquisition that could be described as an improvement is Nico. Hill and Hodson are good enough squad players in fact I'd be happy with both in the team but that really says more about the present incumbents than it does about H and H.

I don't think Warburton is a judge of a player.

  3. Hearts are stronger, more skilful and better coached. If Rangers have a plan I can't see it.

At the goal we had five defenders in the box after the breakaway forward had been repelled and they couldn't stop it.

Well done by their winger, though. A Davy Wilson goal.

  4. Ok, young fellow. Johnny Valentine, then.

But you're right about Thistle usually giving us a game. I can't offhand remember any trouncings.

Having looked at the FF Stats page, 5 - 0, Rangers 1993. Some threes and a four and an early 60s 6 - 3.

How can you forget that? (I wish I could forget Valentine.)

  5. I listened to the last five minutes on RScot last night just to find out what sort of gloss they might put on the event.

The commentator (Liam?): "At least Brendan Rodgers has brought pride back to Parkhead" and "If it hadn't been for Barcelona scoring and then the foul, celtic could have gone all out the last ten minutes."

Someone else, maybe their ex Alan Thomson: "celtic have played well but they've been disappointing they had a great chance"

And that concludes my listening to RScot for the foreseeable future making the total minutes for the year about twenty.

  6. Citeh, Arsenal, Spurs and the Lads were the winners yesterday. I know Gunners drew but even these days, a polnt at OT is useful.

Mata seems to be trying to prove something. Is Mourhino's attitude towards him deliberate to spike him up? SBS will have the answer.

  7.

cold Saturday at Ibrox......this game sticks in my mind

Not one of Rangers' better Saturdays.

The defence that crumbled: Ritchie, Shearer, Caldow, Davis, McKinnon, Baxter.

The inept forward line: Scott, McMillan, Millar, Brand, Wilson.

Rangers were never going anywhere with a team like that, were they?

In fairness Dundee were superb and most worthy champions. Gordon Smith a genius at his third Title winning club.

The Bobby Seith at right half, a former player in Burnley's FL Div 1 Champions, was later a coach at Ibrox.
