  1. Hearts are stronger, more skilful and better coached. If Rangers have a plan I can't see it. At the goal we had five defenders in the box after the breakaway forward had been repelled and they couldn't stop it. Well done by their winger, though. A Davy Wilson goal.
  2. Everton have failed to live up to their early promise. United will win. Unfortunately.
  3. Beerschott? Legions more than Real, obviously.
  4. SBS, there has to be some balance to the lavish praise they are getting for finishing last. When Rangers were frequently under-achieving in Europe they were given justified criticism from some and scornful contempt from many.
  5. "Best corporate lawyer in the land" is sure thing not DF. One of the most sought after CRIMINAL lawyers maybe - in his day.
  6. Ok, young fellow. Johnny Valentine, then. But you're right about Thistle usually giving us a game. I can't offhand remember any trouncings. Having looked at the FF Stats page, 5 - 0, Rangers 1993. Some threes and a four and an early 60s 6 - 3. How can you forget that? (I wish I could forget Valentine.)
  7. I listened to the last five minutes on RScot last night just to find out what sort of gloss they might put on the event. The commentator (Liam?): "At least Brendan Rodgers has brought pride back to Parkhead" and "If it hadn't been for Barcelona scoring and then the foul, celtic could have gone all out the last ten minutes." Someone else, maybe their ex Alan Thomson: "celtic have played well but they've been disappointing they had a great chance" And that concludes my listening to RScot for the foreseeable future making the total minutes for the year about twenty.
  8. I think Phissell might have gone second in the table if they'd beaten us New Year time 1970-ish. And might I suggest that you remove big Davie from your calamity centre defence and put Konterman in instead?
  9. Adam had a go at him first, did he not? Even SB has a right of reply if only so that we can fall about laughing.
  10. I don't write off Arsenal. The defence defends a lot better than in recent seasons and they are saving games they would have lost before.
  11. The goals at #24 show he was more than just a hammering horse. Quite a few delicate touches among the breenging runs and crashing headers.
  12. And Baggies batter Burnley 4 - 0 to round it off.
  13. Jjimmy Millar and Colin Stein could rummle them up and Kichenbrand could run through them but, no doubt, Hateley is top monster.
  14. And the overall winners today, Chelsea.
  15. "This loping wolf of a player" - Jock Brown.
  16. Citeh, Arsenal, Spurs and the Lads were the winners yesterday. I know Gunners drew but even these days, a polnt at OT is useful. Mata seems to be trying to prove something. Is Mourhino's attitude towards him deliberate to spike him up? SBS will have the answer.
  17. Not one of Rangers' better Saturdays. The defence that crumbled: Ritchie, Shearer, Caldow, Davis, McKinnon, Baxter. The inept forward line: Scott, McMillan, Millar, Brand, Wilson. Rangers were never going anywhere with a team like that, were they? In fairness Dundee were superb and most worthy champions. Gordon Smith a genius at his third Title winning club. The Bobby Seith at right half, a former player in Burnley's FL Div 1 Champions, was later a coach at Ibrox.
  18. Could they not have hired a professional Comic to entertain them?
  19. Maybe so but you can't accost people in the street to tell them that.
  20. Saw his debut in a friendly against Arsenal along with Alec Smith from Dunfermline. You could see his class but he did take a while to settle and for fans to realise he wasn't Baxter. Once he came to grips with what was asked of him he was absolutely outstanding. I suspect that he himself devised the role he played rather than any manager or coach.
  21. Hallowe'en segues smoothly into the season of Pantomime, Christmas is nigh and from somewhere over the rainbow in the land of Oz your fairy godmother sashays down the chimney and says: "Hullawerr, Rangurrs supporter. (Fairy godmothers talk like that) Ah can grant yeeze a wish frae this magic lamp ah got aff Aladdin. Yeeze cannae score so ah can gie yeeze wan striker oot o' the three - Aguero, Costa or Sanchez. Which is it to be? Mak' up yer mind, "Well, FGM," says I "Aguero is the sharpest finisher. He can make chances out of his own speed and he needs to be double marked so he would create a lot of space for his fellow striker if we had one. But we might just need Silva as well to unlock defences for him. Costa? Cracking player with a good bit of devil in him. Probably just what we need, a wee tough. But that carries big risks. He'd soon be a target for referees and the press would be merciless. I see the headline now: DIEGO CARAJO! Different story if he went to Parkhead. The scribblers would lionise him up to Lisbon status. Sanchez. Not as fast as Aguero but slightly less of an injury risk. Can put himself about a bit but not as obviously as Costa. Doesn't score as much as the other two but pings them in from anywhere. Alan Shearer reckons central striker is the best place for him and it takes one to know one. So, Sanchez it is, FGM, thank you very much." "Aw right, son. Hing oot yer stockin' in the January windae an' he'll be there. Ony buddy else say different afore ah gie yon lamp a dunt?"
