match thread (image) Aberdeen 1 - 1 Rangers (Tavernier 30pen)
Scott7 replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
I thought Burnley would trash Aberdeen home and away. The current Clarets may be a way short of the calibre of their illustrious predecessors in European competition but you don’t finish as high up the EPL as they did without a considerable degree of competence. Nonetheless in two attempts, they could not beat a team of sheep over ninety minutes. Are Aberdeen better than we think? Will they be buoyed up by two creditable performances? Or will they be drained by their considerable efforts at Turf Moor? Who knows? Anyone? -

Street and wasteground football with no referee is where you learned about democracy in resolving vital issues like hit the post and over the bar. Now wee boys decked out in full Barce livery throw tantrums on all weather pitches while some poor mug tries to referee the game in front of a baying throng of parents and siblings. -

Three and in. Three corners a penalty. -

A deep lying inside forward or attacking wing half. Got it now. “Midfielder” is a modern term for me. I hope Compo is reading and learning. -

Why do you want to buy them? We took a barrowload off them. -
Pompous drivel.

Do you not think both Mrs Trump and Mme Macron have an extra-terrestrial look about them? Tear off the plastic face masks and there are reptilian aliens underneath.

Old style ‘Well shirt in the background.

Do you think he’ll start playing for Arsenal?

Last time you said that, Chelsea won it in a canter.

A most enjoyable commentary. No bias, no prejudice, no incomprehensible, hee-hawing banter. Talksport2, of course.

All republican lefties.

A ‘bus I used to guest on passed Haymarket, the gateway to Gorgie. Always seemd to be dozens of blue scarves milling about. Too early in the day for Hearts guys to be around I suppose.

parkhead, Shawfield, Cathkin, Firrhill maybe.

Celtic never had a ‘keeper in my menory until Ronnie Simpson. They haven’t had an outstanding one since, just a succession of Packie Bonnars.

These players trained up to modern fitness standards would be phenomenal in SPL. Probably still lose to ‘Spurs, though.

Use it or lose it. Better say something, then. Ralphie Brand, purveyor of goals weekly to the faithful from the nominal inside left position, was spotted for Rangers by Mr Struth, watching him on TV as Ralph starred at outside right for the Scottish International Youth side in an education of their English counterparts at Wembley.

I like the two new CBs - the old ones would have lost at least one goal. Tav didn’t go to summer school defenders’ classes. Morelos a shadow of the player he was at the start of last season, he obviously jouked the target practice. By the middle of the second half he was hiding out on the wings leaving an empty penalty box. Ejaria knows how to play. Middleton looks like a Rangers player.

Excellent statement by the OO. Wonder who their PR guy is.

Great sde to watch in their V neck jerseys. The style of the shirt you posted is just the style Rangers should be wearing.

Iniesta, Modric and de Bruyne + any eight others.

I remember an old guy on the ‘bus after the game saying five breakaways. He was a communist from Greenock btw who had studied at Ballioll College Oxford and was working as a University librarian. Not many like that at the fitbaw. Best memory of Gilzean is him leaping high above fellow Hotspur, Maurice Norman, to head the winning goal, Hampden 1964.

Pete #1299 above is spot on but I think Defoe would be an exception. His head isn’t as big as the others’.
