UEFA Europa League Draw: Villarreal, Rapid Vienna, Spartak Moscow
Scott7 replied to Gaffer's topic in Rangers Chat
I will be very happy if celtic turn out to be prey for Suduva. -
Archer, O’Donnell, Cairney, Fraser, Phillips. Never heard of them. At least there is a couple of stars from Swansea and Kansas.
-
Would you prefer Beaton, Thomson or McLean?
-
I would have nominated Collum. He may not be a brilliant referee but I think he’s honest.
-
Took United to second place and won a diddy cup last season. Quite good. Better than every other club in England except City. But with the players he had they should have been much closer to the champions. He just has a limited shelf life at any one club.

match thread (image) [FT] Motherwell 3 - 3 Rangers (Lafferty 15, 38; Ejaria 43)
Scott7 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I saw only the last ten minutes plus added time. Back to the frailties of the last umpteen seasons. Lafferty did well. Bloke tried a throat punch on him. Ejaria disrespected a defender. We need a Stuart McCall type midfielder. What an insane time to put on a substitute - didn’t disrupt ‘Well’s momentum but wrecked our concentration. -
They are indeed. I was a big admirer of Liverpool from Billy Liddell onwards through the Stevenson, Hall and Heighway days, even Dalglish but I went off them after Heysel and Hillsborough. The SG connection and their excellent football may redeem them. Brighton are no pushovers but imagine the rumblings of disquiet at Ibrox if Rangers had spent the SPL equivalent of Liverpool’s outlay and could only beat Accies 1-0 at home. Imagine the sneering in the media.

So did I but I’ve kind of grown out of it now. Looking forward to 5/11 all the same.
-
And never underestimate the Wanderers.
-
Last fellows to do it were United 07/08 and 08/09. Since the war they have won the title in consecutive seasons three times and in three consecutive seasons twice. Liverpool have done consecutive seasons twice and three consecutive seasons once. The title didn’t leave the city of Liverpool between 81/82 and 87/88. Other back to back winners are Portsmouth, Wolves and Chelsea. No Arsenal.
-
They’ve spent three fortunes on players who on the face of it were excellent signings - Blind, Schneiderlin, Depay + + but it hasn’t worked. Not that I’m bothered.

Thst must be a super-fast telly you’ve got, Compo. Game’s on Monday.

R4 Today sports presenter, Gary Richardson, well off message. “Rangers unbeaten in ten, celtic creaking”. Roddy Forsyth came on to restore the balance. It’s Boyata’s fault. GR might have said something other than “creaking”, I didn’t quite catch it. That was the gist of it, though.

Well done, Rangers, but maybe not enough. -
Motherwell captain apologises for making fun of Cardoso injury

They got the club lawyer onto that pretty quickly. -
I’m with buster on this. Most of us can manage the reading without a picture to help. Some are really funny. But not many.

Scott7 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
There are too many Englishmen to pin any particular label on them. I know what many SNP followers call them, though. Seriously, are you offended if anyone calls you a mean Jock? Can we compete with Yorkshire tykes in meanness? -

I am what I am, asil. I just have to live with it. -
You don’t need to be a lawyer to do the film clip part of the business. It needs a panel of one retired referee and two former players, one a defender and one a forward. They should not have played and the ref should not have whistled in Scotland. I like pete’s idea of videos of the whole match. That would be a day’s work to watch the footage and highlight any incident and a half day’s work to decide if a complaint should be made. Over to the lawyer chap after that. In fact it still doesn’t need a lawyer. Just a guy who is competent with rules and paperwork. Was Jim Farry a lawyer?

Forget “timplosion”. It’s been forecast for more than twenty years and hasn’t happened nor will it soon.
-
London couldn’t care less.

Be ashamed. Be very, very ashamed. Timmish style weaselling. But it’s ok. I know you’re only kidding.
-
Burnley lose three goals at home. I rush to judgement and nominate them for relegation. Now I’ve said that, they should be ok.

.... Ms Clare Whyte, Procurator Fiscal Depute. Suggestions on another board of previous appointment at Harper McLeod and post-graduate study at Notre Dame University, Indiana. That doesn’t worry me (yet) but HM? Experience of grassroots football, apparently. Why does this appointment have to be a lawyer?
