Imagine the BBC coming with a grovellng apology tomorrow. Will we all be tuning in? What’s to hear? Stewart, Thomson, Preston, Bonner, Macdonald, Dodds, Ferguson, english and mclaughlin? Bias aside, has anyone heard any one of that crew saying anything at all insightful or even plain knowledgeable? Back in the day Willie Miller used to say one or two things about defending technique in a grumpy and parochial manner but nonetheless worth hearing. But Dodds? “Rangers are forcing Dunfermline into unforced errors”. Can’t say I’m missing analysis like that.

John Wark, George Burley in the same team?

Willian is a cracking player. Better than Sane? Similar types. Willian seems to concentrate better but when Sane comes down from his cloud defenders can’t get near him.

Hard luck, the Lily Whites.

I went to the website for BBC Sport, Scottish Football for thr Highland League results my usual supplier having failed. Headline was Rangers beat 10 man Dundee. Right enough, they were Miller lite for a whole eleven minutes. The Broch beat the Clach btw.

Hotspurs v Kloppsters tomorrow. Wouldn’t mind a ticket for that one. 2-2 perhaps.

Ryan Jack Booed When He Came On For Scotland

And Richard Gordon. I read somebody’s Press & Journal today. (That’s the Herald for Aberdonians) Good stuff about the lamb sales at Kelso (I kid you not) and a piece by Gordon lamenting the scandalous non-rescission of Devlin’s red card. He had been fouled first by his opponent, bleats Gordon. A few weeks ago Morelos was fouled not once but twice. Gordon’s line then was either that it didn’t happen or if it did it’s not relevant. Unfortunate that a formerly accomplished broadcaster should have lost his way so badly. -
An old bloke told me that an old bloke had told him there wasn’t a lot of trouble pre 1914 and it only really got started post 1918. There’s an obvious reason for that. Initially it was mostly police v celtic while Rangers supporters looked on and, in the words told to me, “threw great dodders o’ rocks at the baith o’ them.”

This topic has been overtaken by the question now before this house, namely: ”Is it possible simultaneosly to support Rangers and Independence for Scotland/SNP?” Everyone who has posted is a Rangers supporter, not much doubt about that. At least three are committed to independence, with maybe a couple of fellow travellers. So there’s the answer in the affirmative. I disagree with the minority. I would like to persuade them that they are mistaken but I know that’s not going to happen because it’s more than just the interpretation of facts. Emotions are involved as well. And I’m not in favour of silencing minorities. So, the side issue having been resolved let’s get wired intae they cooncil guys.

And buses chugging along at 40 mph. Special trains the better option but they were always sidelined to let scheduled services through. So, yes, likely a full day there and back. The team he saw on 3rd April1948: Brown, Young, Shaw, McColl, Woodburn, Cox,Waddell, Gillick, Thornton, Duncanson, Rutherford. These diddies could only manage a draw, 1-1, with Duncanson equalising in the 69th minute.

That’s a breach of the peace any day of the week. Was the heckler yelling “British bastards”? Racial aggravation in these precious times.

Some say the letter was written by Gerry Braiden. Looks more like the work of a bleating sheep. How about, “wisnae me, it wis the ither yins, the heid yins say ah didnae dae wrang, youse are aw nae fair an’ ah’m greetin noo”? A single paragraph of exculpation would have been enough and perhaps convincing if it had been backed up with enquiry into the deliberations of the Community Council.

match thread (image) Celtic v Rangers: Becoming the real deal...
Scott7 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I hardly know celtic nowadays. Gordon’s a very good ‘keeper. Brown is effective despite the derision on here. Griffiths is dangerous. Tierney is worth £40M + and rising. But that’s it. From Evans/Tully up to Larsen/Sutton I knew who the opposition was. Not any more. Come to think of it, rattling off a Rangers team isn’t so easy either. But I can do it with a bit of thought. -

Two points from three away games. Should have had three at Aberdeen. Lucky to get one at Motherwell so that sort of evened itself out. Better teams than the current one have come away from parkhead with a worse score than 1-0. The only win in the league is a handicapped 2-0 against St Mirren who lost four goals to each of Hearts and Aberdeen and lost 0-2 to promoted team Livingston. If 55 is coming this year, which I doubt, the team has to be undefeated going into January and no careless draws. In Europe, previous teams would have been out by now. On the other hand nobody had heard of the opposition yet every match was testing. So, satisfactory abroad, slightly disappointing at home but overall, a noticeable improvement. For once I’m glad of the international break. A rest for some of the players and an opportunity for some serious drilling. I hope there will be call-offs from the international squads. -
The Villa are not in the EPL but they should be. They won’t though until they sack Steve Bruce. This bloke has done not much in his career. Barely gets into the Allardyce/Warnock class of manager. He’s favoured by the English media, though, in much the same way as the Two Jimmies and Jim Jeffreys/Billy Brown were idolised by the Sportsound fellows.

I am not going to read the SNP constitution but I expect there will not be a clause stating the destruction of Rangers is an aim of the party. I believe, however, that many of the party members and probably even more of their followers are left of centre (the Party certainly is, according to the marxist, Salmond) republican and by definition, anti-UK. Their perception is that Rangers are royalist and British and politically and religiously an ally of the Orange Order. Accordingly, it is unlikely that there is much goodwill in the SNP towards Rangers. The same applies to Labour. Liberals (or, if they insist on the politics of the nursery, Lib-Dems) are always in favour of the oppressed underdog so they will disdain Rangers who are of course still top dogs. Check the title count if you’re not sure. What’s left? Greens? I think not. They are an amalgam of all of the foregoing. Lesser parties? Waste of time. So, then, the Conservatives. Again I will not read their constitution but it’s a safe bet there is no pro-Rangers clause in it. I believe, however, that not many of the party members and probably even fewer of their followers have any notable antipathy towards Rangers. There you go. Conservatives may not do Rangers much good but they are unlikely to do targetted harm. The least of the evils. What a way to vote, eh? But that’s politics. A word of caution. As Gonzo has said, the well-being of your football team should not be too high on your list of priorities when you mark your fateful cross on the ballot paper. Have fun, Gaff.

I wish I had to pay for a licence so that I could stop it.

Gerrard on a low budget is a greater lure than a wealthy Rogers.
