  1. Knowing the score I switched on Sportsound. Gordon in patronising disbelief mode. Switched him off now.
  2. Wolves and Villa stumble. Forest surprise Town. Magpies lose at Wednesday. They'll go up but maybe not as champions.
  3. Nope. I know too many wealthy bookies to waste my precious few bawbees on wagering. Observe my previous forecast record and understand.
  4. Is that Liewell? Thought it was Boris Yeltsin.
  5. Does post #1 mean we have no future on Sunday?
  6. In the crystal ball of fog I see these weird shapes: Sat Tottenham 3-1 Watford Man City 4-0 Hull Middlesboro 1-1 Burnley Stoke 1-2 Liverpool West Brom 1-2 Southampton West Ham 2-1 Swansea Bournemouth 0-3 Chelsea Sun Sunderland 1-3 Man Utd Everton 2-1 Leicester Mon Crystal Palace 1-1 Arsenal
  7. Magpies scrape through. They and Brighton are going up but who will be champs? Wednesday back in the play-off places. Too much to hope that proud Preston can join them. Villa and Wolves charging up the table but too late. They will have to find a way of keeping that momentum going for next season.
  8. Chelsea v City was an excellent match. Reasonable outcome was a City victory but paradoxically Chelsea deserved the win. Pity because a defeat would have made the last few games more exciting with 'Spurs in good form.
  9. Maybe it's just the late stage of the season with minor injuries accumulating. The last day "decider" match against Aberdeen saw a team full of the walking wounded.
  10. Unabashed by almost total failure, here goes: Tues: Burnley 1-0 Stoke Leicester 2-0 Sunderland Watford 0-1 West Brom Man Utd 2-0 Everton Wed: Arsenal 2-2 West Ham Hull 1-0 Middlesboro Southampton 2-2 Crystal Palace Swansea 0-1 Tottenham Chelsea 2-2 Man City Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth
  11. No brainer. Aberdeen must lose. Another club will incidentally derive a benefit from a sheep defeat but that benefit is coming anyway so it will be a bit of an anti-climax for them.
  12. Liverpool 1- 2Everton Burnley 0-2 Tottenham Chelsea 3-0 Crystal Palace Hull 0-2 West Ham Leicester 2-2 Stoke Man Utd 2-0 West Brom Watford 3-0 Sunderland Southampton 2-1 Bournemouth Swansea 2-0 Middlesboro Arsenal 2-1 Man City
  13. dB. #78: "The "tradition" of cattle raiding went on well down into the 16th and 17th century." Has it stopped?
  14. You won't have to run very fast to catch him.
  15. I don't like to be unkind so I won't name the centre half involved in a terrible debacle. Fair play. He was outstanding when he played for Buckie Thistle. Willie T came in from St Mirren and steadied the ship.
  16. You can't eliminate three hundred years of shared history and enterprise. "Scotland" now is not the "Scotland" that existed pre-union, even less the "Scotland" that seemed to exist when William Wallace was a red Clydeside shop steward, living in a wee bit hill and glen and painting his face blue.
  17. We've struggled to no avail against umpteen other poor teams. Accies was almost relaxing.
  18. Best to know what the enemy is saying. Speaking of enemies, I heard a fragment of Brazil on Talksport the other day when he said he was hearing whispers that the ownership of Rangers was up in the air again. Nothing developed from that.
  19. Harry's book is "Tougher Than Bullets" Excellent.
