From that era. Brown, ‘Spurs Parker and Thomson, Everton Crerand, United, Ure, Arsenal, Mackay, ‘Spurs Scott, Everton, White, ‘Spurs, St John, Liverpool, Law, United, Ewing, Leicester. Plus Billy Stevenson, Frank McClintock, George Graham, Andy Lochead, David Herd, Tommy Lawrence and Alec Young

I remember the game at Ibrox very well. The result was close but in truth Rangers were well beaten by an outstanding side. One of the best goalies I’ve seen, two competent tradesmen at fullback, bruisers at centre half and centre forward, at wing-half one architect and one game dominator, at inside forward one goal-maker and one goal-taker and a Welsh wizard on either wing. Perfectly balanced

And he doesn’t mind a batter at goal. Creates chances from rebounds and palm-outs and unsettles the ‘keeper.

Absolutely. This has annoyed me for years.

That would add twenty more minutes to the whole match time. 12 seconds to take goal-kicks and throw-ins. And if the player taking the throw advances more than five steps from the linesman’s mark, send him off.

Too late for today but tomorrow: Fulham 1-2 Arsenal Ipswich 0-1 Bournemouth Leicester 1-2 Brighton ‘Spurs 3-1 Chelsea (reverse ‘Spursing)

Always good to see a photo of the Famous of any era but especially one featuring R. C. Hamilton the outstanding goal-scoring centre forward of Elgin City and Rangers, Galactico Superstar a century before the words were invented.

Where will you find the personnel to sit on the panel? I agree with the rest except the subs.

All for it. What is more tedious than the ‘keeper standing like a statue as tall as he can manage, clutching the ball shoulder height and looking about him like Queen Victoria then making a few gestures as if to throw the ball out and eventually strolling to the other side of his goal and repeating. Instead of a corner, how about an indirect free kick from the penalty spot?

Unkind followers of the ‘Spurs shouting “Poste-no-clue”. How rude. A Johnny Haynes/Jimmy Hill/ Bedford Jezzard revival. I was grateful to Fulham for taking Graham Leggat away from Aberdeen. Terrific winger.

Pray for Auckland.

So if we can’t shop in the market we should be in, we shouldn’t shop at all. The Igamane market is being trialled. Many have been highly critical. -

For the third time: “I don’t suggest that Shankland is nearly as good as either but it’s the market Rangers are currently in” Rangers can’t afford a Dodds/Durie class player. When they were signed many, eg me, were underwhelmed. We were wrong. -

“The comparison is Billy Dodds or even Gordon Durie. Neither was greeted with acclaim but both performed pretty well. I don’t suggest that Shankland is nearly as good as either but it’s the market Rangers are currently in.” -

The comparison is Billy Dodds or even Gordon Durie. Neither was greeted with acclaim but both performed pretty well. I don’t suggest that Shankland is nearly as good as either but it’s the market Rangers are currently in. The alternative is to bring in the likes of Igamane. A lot of people don’t like that either. My anxiety about Shankland is that he peaked last season and having awarded himself a sabbatical this season he might find it hard to engage gear again. -
[Official] Rangers announce appointment of Patrick Stewart as CEO
Scott7 replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Decided he couldn’t hack the grief the Board gets for misplacing passes and missing easy chances.
