  1. Not Kellys but ghillies or a corruption thereof. Glesca bobbies in the old days  were usually big Highland stirks -and Presbyterian, gaelic speaking strirks at that. So when they were hailing malefactors to stop what they were doing they would shout “hey, ghillie” (“hey, fellow”)

Just be thankful the bobbies weren’t recruited from the north-east. They would have been shouting “hey, loon”. Better Glesca keelies than Glesca looneys.

  2. That’s not a Windsor. I’m assuming the photo is from yesterday.

I’m relieved about that because in an all inclusive, best wee country in the world you must be excluded from knotting your tie in a germanic, royalist way causing offence to millions

  3. I thought Burnley would trash Aberdeen home and away. The current Clarets may be a way short of the calibre of their illustrious predecessors in European competition but you don’t finish as high up the EPL as they did without a considerable degree of competence. Nonetheless in two attempts, they could not beat a team of sheep over ninety minutes.

Are Aberdeen better than we think?

Will they be buoyed up by two creditable performances?

Or will they be drained by their considerable efforts at Turf Moor?

    Who knows? Anyone?

  4. Street and wasteground football with no referee is where you learned about democracy in resolving vital issues like hit the post and over the bar.

Now wee boys decked out in full Barce livery throw tantrums on all weather pitches while some poor mug tries to referee the game in front of a baying throng of parents and siblings.

I'm surprised at the meaning of "brake" club because I've seen photos of an old banner that's got Kinning Park Brake club on it. Why would these guys have needed any transport to Ibrox

    parkhead, Shawfield, Cathkin, Firrhill maybe.
