Liverpool March on Manchester City thump Cardiff and Burnley get their game going and Wolverhampton get a good result at Old Trafford.

    Well done, the Wolves.

Compo, you’ll be too young to remember the radio commentary when their wingers Hancock and Mullen destroyed Honved and Spartak in the days when those two teams wereEurope’s best?

  2. I’d forgotten him, Compo. Did he have a good first five mnutes but rapidly downhill thereafter?

Anyway, don’t bother me with trivia. I’m still trying to make up my mind about Sammy Baird.

  3. Imagine the BBC coming with a grovellng apology tomorrow.  Will we all be tuning in? What’s to hear? Stewart, Thomson, Preston, Bonner, Macdonald, Dodds, Ferguson, english and mclaughlin? Bias aside, has anyone heard any one of that crew saying anything at all insightful or even plain knowledgeable?

Back in the day Willie Miller used to say one or two things about defending technique in a grumpy and parochial manner but nonetheless worth hearing.

But Dodds? “Rangers are forcing Dunfermline into unforced errors”. Can’t say I’m missing analysis like that.

  4. I went to the website for BBC Sport, Scottish Football for thr Highland League results my usual supplier having failed. Headline was Rangers beat 10 man Dundee. Right enough, they were Miller lite for a whole eleven minutes.

The Broch beat the Clach btw.

  5. And Richard Gordon. I read somebody’s Press & Journal today. (That’s the Herald for Aberdonians) Good stuff about the lamb sales at Kelso (I kid you not) and a piece by Gordon lamenting the scandalous non-rescission of Devlin’s red card. He had been fouled first by his opponent, bleats Gordon.

A few weeks ago Morelos was fouled not once but twice. Gordon’s line then was either that it didn’t happen or if it did it’s not relevant.

Unfortunate that a formerly accomplished broadcaster should have lost his way so badly.

  6. This topic has been overtaken by the question now before this house, namely:

”Is it possible simultaneosly to support Rangers and Independence for Scotland/SNP?”

Everyone who has posted is a Rangers supporter, not much doubt about that. At least three are committed to independence, with maybe a couple of fellow travellers. So there’s the answer in the affirmative.

I disagree with the minority. I would like to persuade them that they are mistaken but I know that’s not going to happen because it’s more than just the interpretation of facts. Emotions are involved as well. And I’m not in favour of silencing minorities.

So, the side issue having been resolved let’s get wired intae they cooncil guys.

  7. And buses chugging along at 40 mph. Special trains the better option but they were always sidelined to let scheduled services through. So, yes, likely a full day there and back.

The team he saw on 3rd April1948: Brown, Young, Shaw, McColl, Woodburn, Cox,Waddell, Gillick, Thornton, Duncanson, Rutherford.

These diddies could only manage a draw, 1-1, with Duncanson equalising in the 69th minute.

If anyone wanted to understand why we're voiceless and powerless in our own city a read of this thread is instructive. What started as frustration around a fanzone has morphed into angry white men yelling 'brexit' into the void whilst dreaming of rimming Boris Johnston. No wonder Tims run rings round us politically.

There’s something wrong with being white?
