I think he’s been here long enough now to gauge the professionalism of Scottish referees.

He’s really quite good.

Cant think of any other player who can play centre forward and also inside right in the same match.

Suits, collars, ties - and some thought it signalled the beginning of the end.

Wouldn’t mind going to Deepdale tonight, Preston North End v league leaders West Bromwich Albion. A reprise of the 1953/54 FA Cup Final. Centre forward and club legend Ronnie Allen scored twice for the Albion in their 3-2 victory over a side containing two minor Scottish internationalists, Willie Cunningham and some chap called Docherty. Preston also had the famous Tom Finney.

Albion finished second in the league that season behind Wolves.

Liverpool were relegated, finishing last!
