Who cares what a guy thinks who lasted 2 months as st mirren manager?

Even a Paisley reject can occasionally be right.

Most of us were saying that in January.

Just to be clear, celtic can’t be champions, only winners of a curtailed competition.

  2. The usual Stubbsian philosophy ..... except ..... except

“Plus, if anything, if the season had continued, I could only see the gap between the two clubs becoming even wider.

“For me, it’s not even up for discussion because Celtic would have finished even further ahead.

“Rangers had been more or less admitting that their season was over before the lockdown even happened and they were only ever playing for second place this year.

I might be able to argue that but I doubt if I would persuade many.

  3. I’m out of breath trying to keep up. I’ll skip the Jerries and the Ice Cream Sellers and here’s the World  XI. These old  geezers will pass the living daylights out of you.

    Zoff (Juve/Italy)

    Maldini (the elder) (AC/Italy)

    Santa Maria (Real/Spain)

    Facchetti (Inter/Italy)

    Domenghini (Inter/Italy)

    Mazzola (AC/Italy)

    Grillo (AC/Italy)

    Puskas (Real/Hungary/Spain

    Gento (Real/Spain)

    Schiaffino (AC/Uruguay/Spain)

    di Stefano (Real/Argentina/ Spain))

  4. Another Board where I look in from time to time has good footage of the 62 (St Mirren) and 64 (Dundee) Cup Finals The Dundee match was a classic partly because of the quality of the Dundee team but the Saints game was pretty good too. Buddies had some not bad players and Beck and George McLean and as usual a ‘keeper playing a blinder.

    Other points of note.

Ian McMillan should have been called Ian Magician.

Ronnie McKinnon aged 21 was a colossus of calm.

Harry Davis and Jimmy Millar had more football skill in them than I remember.

    Willie Henderson was unplayable.

62 was the first and 64 the third of a three in a row. In the intervening 63 final the opposition was not of the same calibre as the other two. Easy. Easy.

Michael Stewart feigned he knew nothing of the early day motion(in excess of 30,000 signatures)

    The EDM has seven signatures.

There is a petition floating about which may well have 30,000 signatures but I fear neither EDM nor petition will have any effect.

  6.                 Barthez

          Gallas, Blanc, Desailly

     Vierra,      Kanté      Makalele,
           Ginola          Pires

           Cantona.   Henry

Thought I’d try one of these new fangled lineups. Makes it easier to pick midfielders and defenders. Reduces the choice up front, though. Anelka’s gone off in a huff.

    Don't know Leggatt

Played very well for Aberdeen winning a league medal before (thankfully) moving to Fulham. Blistering pace, good crosser and scored s few.

I was looking for a left winger and had forgotten Big Shoes. Still pick Leggatt.

  8. Bill Brown (‘Spurs)

Eddie Macreadie (Chelsea), Richard Gough (‘Spurs)

Frank McLintock, Ian Ure (Arsenal) Dave McKay  (‘Spurs)

Charlie Cooke, (Chelsea) John White, Gordon Durie, Alan Gilzean (‘Spurs) Graham Leggatt (Fulham)

Leggatt was a cracking good outside right but I think he could manage outside left. He would have had a good number of caps but for Alex Scott, Willie Henderson and some chap Johnstone.
