  1. Final scores before they happen. Villa 47-0 Newcastle (All the Mags players are quarantined) Clarets 1-2 Toffees City 3-1 Fulham Hammers 2-0 United Chelsea 3-1 Leeds Throstles 1-0 Palace Blades 1-2 Leicester ’Spurs 2-2 Arsenal Scousers 2-1 Wolves BHA 2-1 So’ton
  2. Nail not only struck on head but driven home in one whack. Fan ownership might be ok but not for any club at a higher level than Shrewsbury Town. Don’t tell me Real. I doubt if Manolo fae Madrid has much say in their governance.
  3. Not for many years but I used to listen to radio commentary a lot. Paul Mitchell is a hibby, I think, maybe Hearts but his commentary was always good. Described the play. Didn’t work himself up to a frenzy of excitement.
  4. That may be the problem. A lot of the things they’re stopping for aren’t clear and obvious. If they were, it wouldn’t take so long to decide.
  5. I’ m baffult. And guttit I can’t get the answer. Maybe I’ve given myself a wee clue there.
  6. I’m sure he does. The delays are an irritation but if you’re stopping for some events, why not all of them?
  7. How about “sporting integrity” as a relevant factor? The decision should favour the home club as promoters of the event if the postponement is requested for logistical reasons. A club’s training programme is not a reason to “favour the home club”.
  8. Bit odd. Riot with one hand take photos with the other.
  9. What a useless bunch of cretins. What a waste of resources to police them safely. Polis shouldn’t have to be worrying about the safety of fools.
  10. Can’t remember the name of the team but the manager’s Rasashma Farahwore.
  11. di Stefano could make room for himself. I didn’t want to overload with old guys. Magyar’s sabre or Argentine’s stiletto? I opted for the spectacular.
  12. In date order, Puskas, Pele, Cruyff, Maradona, Messi.
  13. Bit of a gap in the middle of the defence for the Benfica opener?
  14. Fortunately for Turf Accountants, the Lord doesn’t favour gambling. Nor indeed do I but if I did, here are the weekend’s surefire bankers. Palace 2-1 Newcastle BHA 2-1 Liverpool City 1-2 Burnley Everton 2-0 Leeds Baggies 1-2 Blades So’ton 1-3 United Chelsea 1-2 ‘Spurs Gunners 2-0 Wolves Leicester 3-0 Fulham Hammers 2-0 Villa
  15. Will they be going too? They are all Neil Lennon.
  16. I would have been willing to sacrifice the Europa but having come so close to qualifying, that’s not really an option now.
  17. The team does better without us. Keep us out.
  18. Get the title changed to “Player of the Match” I noticed that in the rugby at the weekend. No doubt concern that one of the forty or so thugs on the park might not have been a man.
  19. I wouldn’t mind if they did. Can Mourinho keep it going? Can the team survive a couple of setbacks? Can City avoid the drop?
  20. Jock Wallace would have overcome the circumstances. He couldn’t have done anything above the docked points but he wouldn’t have let the rest be frittered away.
  21. England were fearful of Argentina in the quarter final at Wembley. The German referee sent off Rattin the Argentine captain after thirty five minutes. The Saxons went on to secure an emphatic 1-0 victory against the ten men. For some reason the Argentines call the match el robo del siglo, the robbery of the century. Emotional fellows, Latin Americans.
  22. Aberdeen are not Barcelona but they’re a lot better than we give them credit for. They know how to beat teams at their own level and how to make it hard for better sides. They even managed a point from celtic. If he’s fit Roofe’s got to play. Morelos can knock them down. Roofe can bang them in. Miller and Brand?
