Sorry for your troubles, lad but keep working at it. Time’s on your side.

Not suitable attire for an athletic contest. Be thankful, I suppose there are no pinks or greens in it.

Start Turnbull, bench Reilly and drop the mesmerist Johnstone. What about Conn, Bauld and Wardhaugh?

The Summer 2024 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Cantwell has some degree of footballing talent but isn’t able to deploy it consistently or for that matter, effectively. Not at all sorry to see him go. (Nothing to do with his daft beard and stupid haircut, honest) -
Did you miss my apostrophe, old bean? Come to think of it, it’s hardly even a song. More like somebody greetin’ about something. Well suited to the choristers, be they red or green.
-
Start Tommy, sub Souness and don’t change out of the lounge suir, Emlyn
-
Correct. Greig and McKay were much more discreet.
-
Pinching other folks’ songs? Leave that to the spalpeens. I could let you have a Blaydon Races rewrite, though. Pointless because nobody sings properly nowadays. Bothe of these venerable anthems and English fans’ bowdlerised versions of the Billy Boys are yapped at ridiculous speeds.

John Greig, Dave McKay, Billy Bremner. Who’s first pick, who’s on the bench and who gets sent home. Probably only @compocan answer this one. Maybe young @alexscottislegend.

Unarguable. I think the rules of this daft game are that of the three nominees you pick one player to start, one as a substitute and the third doesn’t make the squad. For your trio, start Smith, haveJones on the bench and drop Greaves. Nonsense isn’t it? Perfectly easy to accommodate all three as ‘Spurs did, because they were all different in style.

Start Charlton, bench Best and transfer Law to the Rangers.
-
So we’re off to Lublin in the blue, in the blue.
-
Start Wright, Cole on the bench. Sorry, Les.

Scotland’s Greatest 50 Footballers of the last 50 Years

By the seventies he was in English League Division 2, Coventry, Brighton so his career was ending at the start of the fifty year period but mid to late sixties he was an absolutely cracking player with the Hibs, then Sunderland. -

Cantwell is no sad loss. -
If there are advanced talks for a takeover, why appoint selling agents?

Very good left winger. Laid in the winner in one European Cup Final and scored the winner in the next one. -

Robertson the Forest winger or Robertson of the Hearts? It doesn’t matter because if Willie Henderson’s not around, you don’t drop Jimmy Johnstone. While you’re on about Robertsons, you’re spot on about Davie. Superb player but Broon and Roxburgh didn’t see it. -
You’re perfectly entitled to tell me that. For years I was perfectly happy with Murray despite the warnings from FF’s Grand Old Man. It was near the end before I saw he was right. Does the current board not have some hotshot US management and investment expert advising them? There was a great announcement about a year ago but nothing since. Lack of money is crippling. All the more reason not to waste it. The biggest recruitment error was Pedro followed by Beale. There are excuses in the latter case but none in the former. If Bennet wants my advice - and he still hasn’t been in touch - it’s quite simple. Forget performance in Europe. Recruit a team to beat celtic. It shouldn’t be that hard. Defenders who can defend will do for a start. Then a couple of athletic guys up front who can put their weight about, a poacher to play alongside them and a couple of footballers. Getting the last two will be the hard part. It won’t be pretty but it will solve the immediate problem of winning the league and from that small beginning ….
-
That’s a helluva lot of roots. The root cause is Murray spending beyond the club’s means for which he needed the ill fated EBT scheme. The spivs only exacerbated the damage. Everyone else has been fighting fires and under that pressure a lot of wrong decisions have been made.

Where’s a new board coming from?

I doubt anyone thinks that. -

Those were the days. A defender at right back. -
Yep. Completely different in style. Reardon the last of the old school, Higgins the innovator.

Attendance of over 56,500. Imagine what it might have been if Rangers supporters had bothered to go. There would have been a fair number of United supporters and Man Yoo fans. (There is a difference)
