Keep calm. It hasn’t happened yet. -
Was it not the Club’s Bank that brought that about? What would have happened if McCann had decided he’d rather have an ice hockey team?

I thought Tillman was a good footballer. I don’t think he thought Rangers was a good football club. -
Two for the price of one the great Ray Lindwall and the great Fred Trueman. Imagine either hurling a cricket ball at you from twenty yards away.

Doesn’t bear thinking about.

Ignoring extra time and penalties United have gone consecutive games at Anfield and The Emirates undefeated. Very good progress. Now they must win their next two home games in the league. They should beat So’ton (everybody does) and Brentford too. What they must not do is win their next Euro game. Concentrate on the League lads. Personally I hope United get relegated but that’s not going to happen. Still, the memory never fades.

Much better second half. Didn’t know Dessers had joined Arsenal in the Window as a Finishing Coach. Havertz twice scoops the ball over the bar from right underneath it. One of the two went wide as well. Odegaard has a penalty saved. You always look stupid if you don’t score a penalty but you look doubly stupid if you miss after a corps de ballet routine in the run up. Harry Maguire defended like Geordie Young. That’s like total eclipses of sun and moon in the same twenty four hours. Hitherto unknown. 2-2 and extra time. Gunners should have won it but ten man United show what can be done if you work at your job.

Arsenal v United has been a little bit better but not much.

And at full time. ‘Spurs nearly lost it in the last minute. They’ve been no better than Tamworth.

Wolves slink past Bristol City, plucky Leeds overcome giants Harrogate, Liverpool don’t exactly annihilate Stanley, Sunderland exit early as usual and the real City trounce Salford. Decent afternoon.

Fair enough. Relax, M. Clement, we don’t expect the Championship just get these idlers to play every week not just when they feel like it, plenty of goals at least 90% victories and the Cup.

Villa woke up after 63 minutes, might have scored twice before getting two and should have had at least one more then became fragile in added time and nearly gave away two. Strange.
-
Villa playing like Rangers. Slow, laboured build up, constantly passing the ball off the park, shaky at the back and a single striker not able to do much against a six man defence.

Not one of these advocates has a solution. Self-comforting arm waving. What’s needed is a young Fergie determined to prove himself but the actual Fergie’s first real managerial post was Aberdeen. He’d already cut his teeth and it didn’t matter if he failed.

The English of everybody living in Glasgow gets worse over time.
