  1. Don’t know about the current programme but my old mother and my big sister glued themselves to the screen for the old stuff. Our defenders wouldn’t get on. You had to be two footed plus know which one was which.
  2. Very good. Yellow Card rescinded.
  3. Maybe FARE came to observe the scouse.
  4. Look, dB, you’re a foreign gentleman and contribute well to this board. Just watch your step in future and no more nonsense like that.
  5. That’s why they went after it.
  6. Dyche whom failing Wilder. Keane is at the wrong end of his career. Parker hasn’t really started.
  7. Baggies bin Bruce as they flirt with plummeting down the leagues.
  8. True. Two relaxing 4-0s make a pleasant change from nervous 1-0s.
  9. Gunners score in the first minute against Liverpool. Martinelli. And finish at the top of the league, 3-2.
  10. Look what the poor lad’s done to his arm.
  11. Imagine the response were Young, Shaw, Woodburn and Willie Rae asked to perform that. They wouldn’t have dared to even ask Harry Davis.
  12. A bittie further west and it’s one of those magic Golden October days but just for ninety minutes I’d swap it for wind and rain and glaur and muck just to see the blue flag flying high.
  13. The sort many would mis-kick back against the post.
  14. Somebody clever would be fine. i.e. someone who can outwit the opposition and manipulate the media without either of them knowing it.
  15. Come on, man. The bhoy done good for us and what a killer for timothy.
  16. Just go for it right from the start but don’t get nervy if you’re not three nil after twenty minutes. That’s the time to redouble your efforts. Keep something in reserve for the second half, though and never stop grinding away the whole game. See, this coaching business is easy. No need to waste time at Largs.
  17. Oh yes.
  18. As a counterweight to the appalling Let Downs (shoot the bloke who started it, don’t ban him) the days and nights of euphoria are countless. Give us no more than three. Here are mine. Hearts v Rangers, Bobby Shearer in goal, league won in October. 1964 Cup Final. Barcelona. Helicopter Sunday No more than four. Actually, Dundee contributed massively to 1964, so I’ll take that out. No more than three.
  19. Ouch. Not the Seville one but the 3-12 aggregate. This is a terrible topic. Who started it?
  20. A pustule has erupted in my memory. Berwick.
  21. Maxwell and big Davie getting pelters again. In their defence, United scored in the 47th minute. How come McCoist, Hateley, Durie and Duncan Ferguson didn’t score five in the remaining 43?
  22. The 1967 Euro Cup Winners final was very disappointing because of a result in another competition but it was Bayern in Germany so no surprise. My worst Euro final is the two legged affair with Fiorentina. I expected to win that one because Rangers were a really good side at the time. Manchester was a miracle the team had got that far. Seville? I had a feeling Rangers had shot their bolt in the earlier rounds. None of these results was humiliating. None of the opponents was a minnow. compo has mentioned a League Cup Final that ended in catastrophe. Strangely the fuss died down after a few days. Rangers signed Willie Telfer and all was well. It was only during our niar that the tims revived the memory of it to give them some comfort in their anguish. In a way the 5-1 at parkhead in 1966 was worse because the resurrection was a long time coming. Therefore, combining, shock, humiliation and minnows, the front runners in the Competition of Shame are Gonzo’s Raith and 26th’s Chesterfield. Chesterfield wins. By a distance.
  23. What is Rangers’ biggest letdown? There’s a list I’m afraid. Confining it to cup finals would make an interesting topic or even a poll but I’m not starting one in case I get banned. Youth and inexperience might get me off, though.
  24. Trouble was, some of the blazers were injured and not able to play in the final.
