And the greatest of them all, Lennon. Whither to? Wolves surely wouldn’t want to downgrade as much as that. Hawthorns, perhaps. Hope not. I like West Brom.

What’s that supposed to mean? celtic non sequiturs as usual.
Can’t announce manager, not because they haven’t got him or a list of them, oh no. It’s because they are doing something else instead which is jolly important for the good of the spalpeens who support them.
If Lennon doesn’t get the call to ‘Spurs, or, more likely, gets the call but doesn’t heed it, might he be bringing the thunder ‘bus back to parkhead?

Happy birthday, young man.

United 3-1.

Konterman, a blot on Advocaat’s escutcheon.

No information except he was reported unable to attend the Title presentation and SG was to be taking the trophy to visit him at home.

Have a squint through the windows and see who’s on the wall.

Very neat summary, except Arsenal bullies? Could do with a couple of real bully boys in their team.
Will Hammers perform again next season? Will Leeds? Are Wolves on the slide? Would Dyche be the man for them?

Strange season.
City looked out of it at one stage.Liverpool third. How did they get up there?
United - never write them off, more’s the pity.
’Spurs like a flickering candle.
Everton not even flattering to deceive.
Arsenal, mid table obscurity.
Chelsea, Tuchel may not look like one but they got a Fairy Godmother when they heaved poor old Frank.
Next season.
Look what’s coming up. Norwich and Watford. Not them again. Brentford might be interesting if they can make it.0 -

Can’t fail. If you go bust, the English will come and bail you out.

My vaunted scoring-wonder-new-McCoist, Nisbet barely got a kick of the ball.
Wotherspoon played like a blond Pirlo.

I hope Rangers aren’t going to spend money on litigation that may be fruitless. It’s not just the expense. Think of the enemy’s preening when failure is hailed as exoneration by the press. Let’s hope the advice is 85% + chance of success and let’s hope the advice is sound.
Better to issue a statement that A, B and C, from positions of responsibility, have recklessly made pronouncements based on false evidence, that A, B and C should retract and apologise and that failure on their part to do so can be seen by the general public as defiance of the truth thus affecting the credibility of any future utterances of A, B and C.
That would pass the risk of litigation back to those who mouthed off.
Rangers cannot do anything much about the defamation of supporters, the claims of Sturgeon and others about vile anti-Irish, anti-Catholic conduct. That needs somebody like Andrew Neil.

Gordon - what a bleater.

Going down the leagues a bit, Sunderland 1-0 after thirteen minutes. Ha’way the Lads.

Hibs hibsed it.

50 minutes and St J lead 1-0. Hibs had three decent chances before some primary school defending by Hins in the midst of Saints’ dithering allowed Wotherspoon to elegantly control the ball, make an inch of extra space and swing in a perfect cross for Rooney to finish with an unsaveable header.
Middleton’s just had a Gazza-like break and almost scored.
Poor game, though. I’ll try the Rugby League. It’s usually better.
EDIT St Helens v Leeds, great. Unfortunately it’s the dames so back to Hampden.

Good result. Now to sting the Swans.

Didnt they just need a 1-0 to finish in their place or qualify for Europe??
Correct. I’d forgotten that. At the same time Aberdeen were losing goals by the bucketload.

Toiling at the PC - I know, the Sabbath Day, no good’ll come of it - radio commentary in the background, reconciled to runners-up and suddenly Roger Mitchell squeaks ”and Rangers have won the league, Motherwell have scored”.
Didn’t finish the PC job until the Tuesday.
Motherwell and Gordon Marshall did their best that day. Anybody who was at Easter Road, how much of a go did the Hibs give it? From the TV highlights they seemed content to just play about a bit

Hibs. Not the Rod Petrie Hibs. But the old days Hibs and the Hibs of O’Rourke, Stanton, Brownlie and others. Many a pleasant afternoon at Easter Road when I couldn’t afford the ‘bus fare to a better place.

McBrearty. Must note that name in case, heaven forfend, I ever have to instruct counsel.

What are Emma and Mark blabbering for? If a crime’s been committed, go out snd feel a collar two. It’s not a copper’s job to comment randomly on nothing much.

He got promotion, got them to impressively high league positions and has had one disappointing season though nowhere near relegation. Worth another go and sack him in November if it doesn’t work.
Perhaps there’s something behind the scenes we can’t know about.

That’s true. Newcastle, the Real Villa and Everton have bigger UK supporter potential but global ‘Spurs have the London look and the stadium to prove it. I could chip in with a couple of hundred quid if you’re thinking about a consortium.
