  1. Good footballer but not a fullback. Sell and buy a couple of tacklers.
  2. A victory over the Rangers is a massive confidence booster for a smaller club.
  3. A good game of football judging by the tv highlights (which is not a good way to to assess a match) The defence really needs a pair of bruisers who can head the ball. The current lot are weak. Some of them - ok, Jefte - turns his back on the cross instead of blocking it with his face if need be. He’s a good footballer but he’s not a defender. Davie Robertson wasn’t a big lad but he was afraid of nothing. Butland was good. The attacking play was good. Dessers was excellent. Has he turned a corner just as he’s about to leave? United played pretty well. Had a real go. Never ever a red card. Anyone else see a physical resemblance between Clancy and Walsh and even to a lesser extent Robertson? Not quite brothers but cousins
  4. The semi-literacy of it leads me to believe it’s genuine.
  5. Too many foreigners. They don’t know the history.
  6. You made your point long ago but you’re not recognising the false premise.
  7. I’d go for Fulham v United. Cottagers are playing nicely and United will be on a high after their midweek giant-killing.
  8. That and the rest of the post I agree with 99.9999%. Very well put. The 0001% is the old motto argument. The RFCSA motto is “Aye Ready”. The Rangers motto is “Ready”.
  9. Acid test for Forest. Win their next and they’re fine. Lose and they’re the Aberdeen of England.
  10. The Lads are flaking it.
  11. Dessers man of the match.
  12. Not quite. 5-0 at the end.
  13. If Leeds beat the Clarets they should go on and win the league.
  14. B’mouth 2-1 Forest Brighton 2-0 Everton Liverpool 4-1 Ipswich So’ton 1-2 Newcastle Wolves 0-3 Arsenal City 1-2 Chelsea Palace 2-2Brentford ‘Spurs 3-1 Leicester Villa 1-0 Hammers Fulham 1-2 United
  15. Yep though Haffey was my first thought.
  16. Manager with top players but keep losing to teams of jobbers. Seem familiar?
  17. That’s the left side of the defence sorted. No use the opposition switching wingers. They just got Young and McColl. As for going through the middle, good tactic but for Woodburn. No wonder Bobby Brown in goal had a glamour boy image. He wasn’t overworked.
  18. To which useless one do you refer?
  19. Not one of the venerable Distilleries but it’s privately owned now and its reputation has soared. Twelve miles from my humble residence but too far to bother going because there are nine nearer. Well done the Broch.
  20. United raise their game against the bigger clubs - witness Anfield and Emirates recently. I expect them to do the same on Thursday.
  21. They almost were. I always thought McCoist would come good. I’d happily have got shot of Hateley then he “won the league” last game of the season against Aberdeen and early in the next banged in two against celtic and never looked back. Dessers is an enigma. He scores from difficult opportunities. Easy chances he misses preposterously, the latest being yesterday. He can score from easy chances but only if he makes them difficult first by stumbling about before conjuring up a redeeming finish. @JohnMc put it rather well above and also in a different topic.
  22. Old age. He was done when he finished at City.
  23. Swap for Dessers and Lawrence and Matondo and Dowell and Rangers would still have to pay cash.
  24. That’s not too bad. Try this blighter. What was worse? A dunt on the top of the skull when the ball was soaking wet or the lace across the forehead?
