Were they not 13 ahead by October in O’Neil’s second season or is that a distorted nightmare memory? Your point is valid, though. The League has been gone for some time. Correct as is the rest of your summary. Hagi can take a shot at goal and is generally more forward going than Diomande. Hagi, Barron and one of the other two might be the best pick. Could do with a proper destroyer. Actually two. One in midfield and one in defence. -

He was maybe defence coach this week. -
0-4 at the end. Didn’t see that coming. ‘Spurs can do that to a team occasionally.

He’d have stopped that goal Gilligan gave away this afternoon. -
Naw. When did he last win a game?

Forest might surprise folk. - again. I fear Brentford will be too good up front for Everton. City should win comfortably.

[Official] Nils Koppen appointed Technical Director

Question of reputation. You wouldn’t hire O’Reilly with an uncovered yard somewhere if Reliable Fabrication Worldwide plc had declined to tender. You might let the work to Well Founded Construction Ltd. though. -

Did that company have a decent past history or was it an opportunistic bid? -

They didn’t say on time, though. Much as you would like to throw up your hands about the Board again I’ll make a guess that rather than any individual director or directors trying to do it, the design, construction and supervision were all contracted out. That means architects, engineers, surveyors and contractors. In light of what Devil’s advocaat says above, what would your contingency plan have been? -

Davie declined the offer. Eric Caldow said no to Manchester United.

National Service in the Black Watch. The lad with the kilt looks soldierly enough but unlike his right half, he only had to fight paper clips and typewriter ribbons.

Scary if you’re a North Korean or a celtic player.

Wallyford and he’s a … er, let’s not go there. Remember he can ban us in a heartbeat. A holiday residence in Gullane, perhaps? -

I thought a military chap would prefer the name “Volunteer Arms”? And it’s “Canny Man’s”. You should have paid more attention on your trips to civilisation from deepest, darkest Lanarkshire. -

Neither. Utterly posh as in Grange. I don’t know if he actually lives there but I bet he talks like it. -

Same difference. Lothians folk speak nearly as posh as Embra. -

@Rousseau is in Edinburgh. He speaks posh. Where I am it’s “yalla”. Some benighted folk will say “yally” but generally your proposition is correct. -

The hypothesis remains true, though. -
During Rangers’ niar there was fairly consistent, sometime stern, competition from Aberdeen and at times Motherwell and Kilmarnock and the occasional flicker from Hearts and at the end, celtic started to become a nuisance. Over their niar Hibs had a go, sometimes Dundee Utd and Aberdeen though not terribly seriously. I think Rangers did better in their niar than they did in ours so I conclude that Rangers’ niar has more merit than theirs. No bias or anything like that.
