A better idea might have been not going into the season last august with just 3 recognised CB’s, 2 of whom ( Souttar & Balogun) are constantly injured.

Heard this earlier but presumably Porteous is valued a £3m or £4m whereas Dowell will be significantly less. We’d need to stump up quite a bit to get him

Providing he’s fit, I’d take Evans until the end of the season on loan no problem. We don’t exactly have a lot of choice where we are atm. Only issue I see is his wages at ManU, £60k per week or thereabouts

If they want to take control of the club thats what they’ll need to do. It just seems to me we’ve half a dozen or so major shareholders who have little interest in the club anymore

Rangers are of course trying to copy the player trading model. I do believe we’ve now got 2 or 3 players who are sellable assets

Rangers need to be modelled more on a eredivisie club than an EPL club

We have half a dozen ‘major’ shareholders each with around 10-15% shareholding. Ideally a couple of these would sell up, ideally to other ‘ major’ shareholders

Rangers supposedly have a good relationship with olympique Marseille so I wouldn’t rule out us getting someone on loan from there to help us out

I’d guess we’re still paying the price of the board sacking GvB & replacing him with Beale who was given millions to overspend on average/mediocre players mostly with no resale value who we can’t get rid off. That wasn’t Clement’s fault but just sack him anyway? Is that what you’re saying? And still await who you want to replace him with

With the current group of players I’d suggest his options are very limited

Away from home the home side maybe comes out & attacks a lot more they do at ibrox? I genuinely don’t know the answer but what I do know is we’ve had a CB crisis hasn’t helped. And the first choice GK hasn’t been brilliant this season either

Who then ? who would take the job? who could transform inherited average & mediocre players into league winners on a shoestring budget?

Couldn’t agree more. The biggest problem atm is the make up of the squad. We are very light in areas such as CB and this should have been addressed last summer. We also have just one recognised first team GK atm too. Regardless of who’s the manager these things need sorting and there is no one out there I can see who could make some very mediocre, average players significantly better.
