If the team he's picking on a routine basis is dropping points like this then it really doesn't matter who he does or doesn't fancy because he's obligated to find a solution that works.

Perhaps he thinks there isn’t a solution with what he’s inherited

I'm beginning to think we have a manager who talks about what we must do better and then picks the same players and adopts the same tactics as before ... and players who talk about what they need to do better but then go out and do the same again. You can hear it in their voices - they perform to the press better than they're performing with the ball.

I don’t think GvB rates s number of the players he’s inherited hence why so little change in team selections and also during games

Well that was dismal. The only thing positive about that was the 3 points. No subs? Is GVB seriously now saying we have only 11/12 players and the rest he can’t trust?

When games are coming thick and fast you simply must use your bench. We have a massive squad of highly paid players, can bench 9 and play 5 each game, and in last week we have used 10% of sub opportunities. We won’t win the title with players dead on their feet.

Kris Boyd made the point after the game that the manager doesn’t have great confidence in his squad. I’d tend to agree with him.

I watched a montage of McGregor's mistakes this season...

    Depressing viewing.

It hits you harder because he has been incredible for us; world-class at his peak, with an ability to pull off miraculous saves.

And there’s  probably more than you think….

I always go back to the Malmo games & think that where it all began

At least part of the set piece weakness defensively is McGregor's reluctance/inability to command his 6 yard box.

Their goal yesterday was a header from a corner centrally on the six yard box.

Forty years ago the goalkeeper would be expected to deal with that

    Times have changed….

  6. We continue to lose goals from set pieces. Happened again yesterday.

This year we’ve conceded from a set piece (or as a result of a set piece) at Ross county, Aberdeen, Celtic & again yesterday.

Much of this year due to the fact we’ve a goalkeeper who’s a great shot stopper but doesn’t command his box. Opposition teams can see this

  7. Absolutely delighted tonight.
Can’t help thinking we’re very much stronger with both Jack & Lundstrum together central MF. And hasn’t young Bassey grown so much in stature.
But credit must also go to our new manager & his back room staff. I thought we’d lost it a bit after Malmo with SG but Gio’s  improved us bar one bad 45mins against the yahoos. Going to be a very interesting  run in with them.Wonder if tonight will affect them ? Always thought after FC Copenhagen beat them at ra Stydome was the beginning of the end for Lennon. Hopefully same tonight for Ange no pro-licence.

And bring on VAR. helped us twice tonight.

  8. It should be noted that the consequences of that dreadful administration day are still far from over.

We still await the final outcome of BDO and HMRC over what oldco taxes were(or weren’t) due following HMRC’s Supreme Court‘ ‘victory’ regards EBT’s.

May turn out to be a victory HMRC might wish they hadn’t won. We shall see.
