I hope GvB now reconsiders his first choice starting XI

Keep the faith pal, terrible defending cost us that match, much better 2nd half, long way to go before you can say the league is over!
Too many players have been poor for too long. For me it was noticeable when Balogen & Jack came on. Two players who didn’t hide.
I also think we need to rethink tactics going to Celtic Park. 4-3-3 is too ambitious when u know they come flying out the traps at 100mph. Perhaps 4-4-2 or 4-5-11 -

If it wasn't for our keeper it would be 6-0
Course it would but I think he should have stopped both shots

Dont want to cause a riot but really their first two goals a keeper should save from outside the box

Kent and Amad Diallo could run riot tomorrow night if we utilise them properly

Dwight Gayle is leaving Newcastle whether on loan or a permanent deal.
Hes got 2 years left on his contract so unless Newcastle pay up the remainder he’ll most likely go out on loan.
At 32 he’d do a short term job for us.
I think GvB has reservations about Itten and Sakala and understandably has concerns about Roofe’s fitness.

I’m hearing we’re trying to bring in a striker on loan……

Signing Ramsey looks to me GvB thinks we lack quality in MF. Wouldn’t disagree

I'd be surprised if he signed on just to be no. 2. After McGregor's howlers maybe this is a sign that he is about to become our official no. 1. I'd like to see McCrorie moved up to McLaughlin's place once Greegs retires.
Assuming McGregor retires/leaves we’ll need to sign another keeper. Don’t know where that will leave McCrorie

What’s frustrating about today is that the individual errors returned which seemed to have stopped after GvB took over.

The problem with that thesis is that Sakala hasn’t been fancied by GVB at all since he came in. Even after a MOM performance he gets dropped and only comes on because of an injury. It doesn’t seem likely.
I think GvB wanted to see both Sakala and Itten for himself when he arrived.
Neither will have greatly impressed him I suspect. They don’t score enough goals for starters.

I wonder if GvB will play McGregor on Wednesday.
There have been signs throughout the season that perhaps his time was up. Age catching up with him. Gerrard ignored the signs but I don’t think GvB will do the same.

Our build-up play is slow & predictable once more.
two horrendous errors gave them their goals.0 -
Itten given another chance I see. Let’s hope he takes it.

€40m ? Timz won’t like this 😱

Itten is just too passive and slow to react but I guess he can point to a lack of game-time/match sharpness in that respect.
For me Scott Wright isn't good enough whilst the likes of Barker and Lundstram clearly lack the confidence of the manager.
However, to their credit, these lads got the job done last night and it's up to Kent and Aribo to show us what we're missing on Saturday lunch-time.
I’m not convinced Wright is a winger. More of a number 10 to me. We don’t play him in that position do we?

Very happy with that win.
The awful conditions can't be underplayed and as much as we obviously struggled for quality for long periods, I felt we kept plugging away, kept working hard and deserved our goal.
Felt Barisic and Tav were more effective in the second half, was impressed with Lowry and Sakala also contributed fairly well. However, the quicker we can get Kent, Morelos and Aribo back in the side, the better.
Don’t you think our fringe players continue to disappoint Frankie?
another poor night for Itten for example

A difficult game tonight in a high wind like last week at Pittodrie,
I thought we might struggle without Kent, Morelos and Aribo and we did. Disappointing that some fringe players who came in tonight didn’t really impress.
However glad to get the win in the end with a touch of class from Arfield & good to see Jack return. Wonder if GvB might revert to a MF of Jack, Kamara & Arfield assuming all fit?

Big night for Sakala & Itten too. They need to show they can get goals.

If Goldson goes then so be it. He’s been a magnificent signing & will be difficult to replace
The yahoos must have spent £15-20m on CB’s during his time with us, none of whom were anywhere near as good as Goldson

Cammy, you keep referencing the past! I'm talking in the present, what I am seeing is GVB & his back room staff trying to implement a negative formation! I could be wrong but I am only being honest, we can only hope GVB has a plan and is in transition
Were we not conceding far too easily before GvB replaced SG?
Was he not correct in trying to do something about this?

I thought they were both pish! this was up against Stirling Albion!!.
Lot of dross we need to get rid of and they are two of them!.
I don’t think Barker did himself any favours tonight. I’d be surprised if we saw him again. I think GvB wanted to see him in action for himself. I doubt he’d have been impressed.
Bacuna set up two goals tonight but whether he can be the creative midfielder we’d like him to be Im not so sure. He needs to show he can offer us more against better opposition

GvB said before the game he was giving fringe players a game & he did that. With so many changes from Tuesday night we were always going to take time to settle tonight.
Just my view that maybe 1or 2 of those fringe players didn’t do themselves too many favours tonight.

We made him & others look good in that first half. They came out the traps at 100mph and our 4-3-3 left us exposed
