I still think it is inconceivable the SFA did not know about Whyte's shady business history ( including his directorship ban) if not when he took over but very soon afterwards. Yet they took no action on this and also when they are alleged to have been informed about when he started not paying PAYE/NI they did nothing about this also.Nothing, of course, until administration in Feb2012. Something isn't right about this. Do I detect the liewell influence in all of this at the SFA?
-
It's my understanding Rhegan's SFA claim Whyte never told them he was banned as a director for 7 years in 2000 yet on the day Whyte got Rangers there was an article all about Whyte & his colourful background in the daily telegraph. Are the SFA saying they never knew about this article? Whyte's full business history was, of course, revealed in Daly's documentary in Oct2011 yet they still took no action until administration on Feb2012. Why was this ? Did Liewell tell his buddy Rhegan to sit tight to maximise the damage Whyte could do at Rangers? Seems ridiculous to me to impose fines on Whyte for something they knew about anyway. Likewise his non-payment of PAYE/NI. Did they know about that too if they were advised by JT in OCT2011? if so why did they do nothing about it until administration in Feb2012 ?

Incidents Reported To Fare - Guess Who
RANGERRAB replied to chilledbear's topic in General Football Chat
they should simply rename themselves IRA FC because of the number of IRA songs sung every game. Only patsys like Speirs would say they don't have a problem. -
If it's been going on now for 8 months then they've surely noticed somethings............I hope

Wonder what the Police Investigation will come up with?
-
Will transfer monies not be payable to oldco? if BDO come calling for this money & the SFA can't pay up what happens ? Something tells me both the SFA & SPL are short of cash at the moment
-
Interesting times ahead. I wonder if this SFA fine is legally enforceable ? If I recall correctly, this fine was for(amongst other things) non-payment of PAYE/NI which it is alleged the SFA were advised of in Oct2011 and did nothing until administration on 14FEB2012. Why did they wait over this period of time ? over to you Mr Traynor

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
RANGERRAB replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
the relationship between CG & ALLY is too cosy for my liking. Just like I thought with SDM & WS. We need much higher performance targets for the Rangers manager. Getting put out of europe by malmo & maribor, getting put out the Ramsdens Cup by QOS at ibrox, getting put out the LC by ICT & Falkirk, getting put out the SC twice comprehensively by Dundee Utd and losing a good lead last season in the SPL fall well short of any targets I'd expect to see set IMO. . -
Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
RANGERRAB replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Had it not been for his legend status as a player at Rangers, Ally would have been shown the door long ago. He simply hasn't cut it as manager. His overall record is poor. Most games this season have been torture to watch. When things aren't going well he's no idea how to change things. If home attendances start dropping then CG will have to act. I also wonder if CG would trust him with money to spend bearing in mind we have Neil Murray as chief scout (or whatever his title is) -

One good second half display against part timers and Ally has redeemed himself has he ? His overall record since he became Rangers manager has to be looked at and believe me it doesn't make good reading. We need changes in the summer regards the first team manager & coaching staff. The scouting network also needs looked at. -
It is a sad fact that the Rangers haters think their hatred/bigotry is perfectly acceptable whilst anyone who dares utter anything against them or their club is totally unacceptable. If this continues longterm there could certainly be dire consequences within this hate-filled little nation of ours

SPL clubs give 'unanimous backing' to proposed reforms
RANGERRAB replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
Perhaps he's also beginning to realise that the monies promised in these proposals won't materialise without us . If CG says he won't sign next season's SKY deal then these proposals are a non-starter. -
And SKY, as Scottish football's largest financial contributor, will dictate what happens in Scottish football next season regards reconstruction. Not Dumbcaster. Not Rhegan. Not the chairmen of all the diddy clubs who have contributed sweet eff-all to scottish football for decades
-
no chance of that. Someone playing in their best position ? I can't believe there's any question of Andy Little not playing up front on Saturday. He's the best striker we've got at present.
-
if this doesn't worry the Rangers support then it damn well should. It's blatantly obvious Little's best position is up front. Can't the manager see this ? he ineffective wide right and all the other positions he's been played in except up front. Sometimes I do wonder I really do.

Orlit Enterprises to seek winding up order against Rangers
RANGERRAB replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
whole thing is hilarious. Rangers being wound up for £400k. brilliant work........which timothy thought this up ? is his seville calculator not working properly ? surely a zero or two short to make this worthy of comment. I'm sure Mike Ashley will settle with the loose change down the side of his settee.............what? am I not supposed to say that in case Rhegan & co are watching ? -
Unfortunately this statement won't deter the usual drama queens we have amongst us.......
-
It's very unfortunate but ex-Rangers players seldom go on to become great Rangers managers. I would dearly like to see Ally turn things around but I think his record isn't great as Rangers manager whichever way you want to look at it. Sorry

many football clubs and/or businesses might run at a loss on their balance sheet to avoid paying tax. Perfectly legal although you do get the ones who push it to the limits e.g starbucks
-
HMRC are the great pursuer of lost causes. They don't care how much it costs to recover amounts they believe they are due even when it's not remotely financially viable to do so e.g the redknapp case. A private company would not dream of doing anything of the sort but hey it's the public purse and they've got a bottomless pit of dosh haven't they? Somebody needs to tell HMRC the UK is £1.3 trillion in debt & rising. All Government depts have had to reduce their spending except them it seems. EBT's were perfectly legal tax avoidance schemes until they were closed down. They need to realise that & start chasing tax evaders
-
Remember it cost them something like £8m chasing Harry Redknapp for a £300k tax bill.............so maybe we shouldn't be surprised
-
someone tell you outcome ? I don't believe they know what to do
-
that won't win them their appeal. Wonder where this places the SPL's Kangaroo court. As things currently stand nothing has changed regards the FTTT where these payments were deemed loans & not contracts. Will the kangaroo court attempt to guess the outcome of the STTT which could be years away if there's a backlog of cases ?
-
It will be intersting to know exactly what is the basis of their appeal.
-
Is it not the case they've been granted 'leave to appeal' meaning they'll need to prove where the FTTT was incorrect in its judgement on a point of law. Failure to do so will mean the appeal will be thrown out as I expect it will be & we'll see whether HMRC wish to proceed further with this.
