  1. Let's wait til we see the detail of this contract. It's for 30 live SKY games per season, five of which were Rangers in Div3 ? just 25 SPL games per season ? can't see them paying anywhere like the current figure of £13m for that. Last season's contract was for how many games ?

I think there may well be a clause in this new contract stating we must be in top division next season or something like that. That would be after league restructuring ( god help us if Regan & Dumbcaster are doing it)

  2. CG will be judged by myself & my fellow Rangers brothers by the job he does here at our much beloved club.

A good indication of that will be getting rid of Doncaster & Regan from their respective positions at the SPL & SFA over the weeks & months ahead

  3. Whatever the outcome of the SPL EBT Kangaroo Court ( run by Celtic's lawyers Harper McLeod) we simply do not recognise its findings. Ignore them. They had no bearing on results achieved on the pitch. They know that but cannot accept that. It's in their DNA.

Regards this tosh we had players we couldn't afford during this era? Neither could Celtic then. They had £30million debts when O'Neil left in 2005. Could they afford their players and we couldn't ?

One of the companies which runs Celtic today (in their complex corporate structure Charles Green was talking about today) is currently £23m in debt. Talk about people in glasshouses 'n' all that?

  4. If the SPL collapses and the SFL takes over , in the interest of sporting integrity all teams should have to apply and start at the bottom

Just wait for the mayhem that would cause. The SFL might want to look at the finances of a few SPL clubs they inherit too i.e. a certain one in glasgow's east end run by 2 companies one of which £23m in debt

  5. Perhaps an even bigger question is whether the SPL will still exist next season ? what if SKY drastically reduce their contract ( or scrap it altogether) and a number of SPL clubs go into adminstration or go out of business ? these clubs heavily depend on the SKY contract ( and Rangers visits) to survive. what will SPL do then? the SPL's own finances are shaky too like being unable to pay SFL its dues.

If SPL gets scrapped will SFL take over the running of all divisions ? would remaining SPL clubs need to apply to join SFL ? what division would they play in etc, etc

  6. is it just me or will there be much more interest in us in div3 than SPL ? will that continue throughout season ? if so then is it little wonder SKY are supposedly considering their position regards SPL coverage?

Consider this too. What game would the tv audience rather watch? a goalless St Midden vs ICT turgid affair devoid of entertainment or Rangers humping someone 8-0 ??

It'll be intersting to see how this pans out. I just think when the SPL put us to div3 they then deprived themselves of some much needed publicity for what is an already toiling set-up.

  7. Regards EBT's, howcome the SFA (apparently) have no interest in stripping us of Scottish Cups won during this period and the SFL have no interest in stripping us of Scottish League Cups won during this period ? it was the same players after all.

Given that the SFA are the body to whom any appeal would be made to regards EBT punishments surely the SPL have no case whatsoever. How could we(possibly) be stripped of titles but not cups?

  8. Lawwell currently sits on the Professional Game Board to which he was elected at its inauguration last year. It is not a paid position. The members are Chairman: Rod Petrie (Scottish FA) Jim Ballantyne (SFL), Neil Doncaster (SPL), Peter Lawwell (SPL), David Longmuir (SFL), Alan McRae (Scottish FA), Campbell Ogilvie (Scottish FA), Stewart Regan (Scottish FA), Sandy Stables (SHFL) and Ralph Topping (SPL).

The SPL are allowed three representatives on the PGB "who shall be nominated in writing by the SPL" – the others are the SPL Chief Executive (who goes on automatically) currently Neil Doncaster and Lawwell.

Ralph Topping resigned in May and Celtic Finance Director, Eric Riley took his place. So at that point Celtic had two members on the PGB, which seems very odd to say the least (even if it was already assumed that Lawwell would step up to the main Board).

The PGB nominates one person to the main Board.

The main Board consists of seven members: the Office Bearers (Stewart Regan, Chief Executive; Campbell Ogilvie, President; Alan McRae, First Vice-President, and Rod Petrie, Second Vice-President), plus Ralph Topping (SPL), Tom Johnston (Junior FA) and Barrie Jackson, the Scottish FA’s first-ever independent non-executive director.

Therefore the obvious candidate to replace Topping would be Lawwell, since it is highly unlikely that it would be considered appropriate to elect Doncaster, (although it is not specifically excluded in the Rules).

all very well but what exactly does PGB do ? can anyone list its achievements ?

  9. Apart from holding the toilet seat while Regan & Doncaster flush what's left of Scottish football down the pan ?

no, in all seriousness, exactly what does he do at the SFA ? what's he achieved since Regan invited him onboard ? these are questions that should be getting asked once we're up and running by our CEO or whoever.

  10. It looks very much to me that SKY don't want anything to do with their SPL contract if we're not in SPL. Also SPL are contractually obliged to pay SFL £2M. SPL haven't got the money without SKY contract not to mention they need our media rights too which SFL don't want them to get. Intersting week ahead !!!!!!!!11

  11. Is it not the case that SKY have told SPL that unless they can get Rangers media rights(to show Rangers games) then there's no SKY deal for SPL next season ? SFL won't give the SPL Rangers media rights. also SPL pay SFL £2M per season. Without SKY deal(and who knows what value it will be) SPL can't pay this money. Could SPL therefore be insolvent ? All in all a shambles !

Regan & Doncaster created this mess along with the SPL chairmen who voted us out the SPL. Resign at once both of you.
