  1. I believe that the reasoning was that they didn't want to make a 'martyr' of any journalist.

Well that worked real good didn't it?

just ban the entire BBC scotland outright. It'll give them bad publicity, especially down south with their big bosses. Good article by JT but the time for words has gone. Tough action is now required. Start with BBC sCOTLAND aka Pacific Quay CSC. Next up Clyde CSC. Ban the lot please Mr Green.

  2. am I the only one thinking Longmuir is playing devils advocate in all this ? he must know this SPL-Proposed 12-12-18 has no chance without a SKY deal & new sponsors to replace CB & Barrs Irn-bru. Once it fails he can say it's wasn't my idea & something else gets put forward which he's the head of and the SPL & Doncaster get consigned to history.

Don't forget CG has told SFA/SFL he won't be signing any new SKY deal (current one expires at end of season I believe) so where's the money coming from for this new 12-12-18 set up?

  3. I've never really understood why we haven't done this. It's clear as day that the Pacific Quay have an agenda with Rangers so just friggin ban them from everything. Let's face it' date=' they need us more than we need them[/quote']

If we did ban Pacific Quay CSC from Ibrox it wouldn't go down well with their high heid yins down south for a start nor the tory government in westminster either who are not so keen on the unaccountable state-funded BBC. Banning them would be bad publicity for them & would hopfully kickstart a clearout beginning with cosgrove & spence hopefully

  4. Ban English from Ibrox. Ban Speirs from Ibrox. Ban the BBC & Clyde from Ibrox. Others too. Give them no interviews or co-operation.

Only then will it sink into the high bosses who run these organisations or employ these cretins that maybe just maybe employing them might not be a good idea as their anti-rangers bigotry damages the business that employs them when Rangers supporters want nothing to do with it by switching off or not buying their newspapers.

The fightback in this cesspit of a country begins now. Well said JT. keep it up.

  5. now we have had a team walkfrom the field of play due to racist actions by morons what will uefa do if a team walks during a champions league game .

it may even encourage fans to make horrid chants if their team is on the way out in the missguided hope of getting the match called off and getting a replay.

a big can of worms has been opend at last .

or a team walks off when the other teams supporters show support for terrorist organisations...............

  6. Has anyone asked where the finance for this new reconstruction is coming from? SKY are spittin' feathers with ultra low SPL viewing figures this season and may walk away at the end of the season and both CB & Barrs Irn-Bru sponsorships end then too.

Clubs simply cant survive on ehat they get at the gate (unless they all go part time)

  7. That particular mercenary can GTF.

Wants another suck of our tit because it would suit his domestic circumstances.

I'd also say he's past his best anyway. He hasn't exactly been a roaring success at clubs he's played for since he left us. And he's 34 later this year. What length of contract would he want? we've already got Jig contracted until near enough his 37th birthday which not best use of cash IMHO. We need to look at younger players for a number of positions but ideally they'd be mid-twenties or younger with resale value.

  8. With all due respect we need to look at younger players than KM. I believe Goodwillie will try & get released from Blackburn at the end of this season & Ally would seem to like him as he's bid before when he was at DundeeUtd. He'll need to accept less than he's probably on at present as he's is no position to call the shots is he?

  9. There was a PDF document on FF recently Edge. They made grim reading.

The proposed reconstruction will only take place if they can get proper finance/sponsorship i.e. a SKY deal & a replacement for the CB. Scottish football is seriously short of money & cannot do without these. The SKY SPL viewing figures this season are dreadful - down 73% someone said I'm sure. So will SKY want to renew without 4 OF games ?

I get the impression Longmuir is playing devils advocate in this. He's going along with this but waiting for the SPL to implode with these ridiculous proposals then he & SFL will gain control

  10. To be honest I don't care who we are playing as long as we get a TV deal where we are the important party. If Regan and Donkeycastor are going to fuck us then let them kiss our arse first.

There won't be a SKY tv deal without us. Their SPL viewing figures are down something like 73% this season. That's not sustainable

  11. That was then and this is now though Rab and football in Scotland 40 years ago just isn't comparable to the game now. Just because we moved away from large leagues to the 10 team premier league back then doesn't mean that moving back to large leagues would be a bad idea. Sometimes you need to go backwards to actually go forwards, if you know what I mean...

A LOT of Scottish football fans would like to see bigger leagues again and everything (apart from some selfish clubs in the current top flight that want to preserve the current status quo while strengthening themselves) suggests that it would probably be the best way forward. The large broadcasters certainly don't have an issue with large leagues when you look down south and around Europe, so there's no reason why they would have a problem with an 18 or 20 team top flight in Scotland.

The meaningless games argument is redundant, it's old hat because there shouldn't be any meaningless games even in an 18 or 20 team league. Every team is fighting from game to game to end up with as many points as possible at the end of the season and the more points you end up with, the bigger the prize money for your club. As well as the prize money, you've got the teams in the top half battling for European places or play-off places and you've got the teams at the bottom battling to stay out of the relegation zone just as we see down south and in the good leagues all around Europe.

It really doesn't need to be overly complicated the way that's being proposed by the idiots running Scottish football and let's be honest, they ARE idiots because only idiots would have done what they did to Rangers in the summer, then come up with another brain fart of a plan to resurrect the game that involves small leagues and stupid splits.

what u need to remember is ur marketing a product you hope people want to buy. People won't want to watch or buy meaningless games unfortunately.

  12. I have written many posts on here over the years that the grass root system in Scotland is totally wrong. Living in Holland I can see that the system here is just 1 million times better. I will admit that i am not up to date on the Scottish scene these days.

Wouldn't surprise me. We need to get the likes of dutch coaches involved at grass roots instead of some of the numpties we've got at present

  13. I agree with UCF2008 on the best way forward even although it's looking like having little chance of happening.

I'm not sure which would be best (20/22 or 18/24), but I think maybe a 20 team SPL and 22 team SFL would be ideal. 2 leagues and the SFL retains the largest number of teams. Promotion and relegation wise it could be a simple 4 up, 4 down with 2 automatic promotion and relegation spots plus play-offs for the other spots. No idiotic splits! Done.

unfortunately we've been here before. Pre-1975 we had something like this. Bigger leagues, too many clubs, too many meaningless games. Hence the 10 club premier league started in 1975. Also don't forget there were only 8 or 9 fulltime clubs back then. The premier league was supposed to protect the fulltime clubs & eradicate meaningless games but didn't when the likes of Clydebank & Dumbarton got in and Hibs & Hearts got relegated (Belated HA ! HA!)

  14. That's actually a good point of discussion. How many players actually come through the ranks?

Is the SPL\Rangers scouting so good that most of the cream is licked off before senior level?

or are these players good enough to play at the level we require? any club can have a youth policy but whether it produces quality players is another matter.

  15. I'd argue that our presence in the lower leagues is doing the game some good though as its reinvigorating these clubs and they're also benefitting financially. Also you have to remember that they were effectively passed the Rangers "problem" by the SPL and told to deal with it which they did, while also rejecting self-serving plans from the SPL to put us in to Div 1. I think the SFL have been consistently a breath of fresh air throughout all of this so I'd be disappointed if they caved now.

how's it doing the game good? these clubs aren't even on a par with Conference National clubs down south. We can put money into them all we want but they're contributing next to nothing for the Scottish game in general. When did one of these clubs last produce a player of any quality playing in say the EPL?

  16. Cannot see why on earth SFL would accept this sort of deal for...it basically kills them off.

Longmuir isn't stupid. He knows these SPL reconstruction proposals will fail if there's no new SKY deal or sponsor to replace CB. Surely the braindead chairmen will want to know what's financing these proposals. If not then they'll all have to make drastic cost reductions or go part-time.

  17. we dont need to sign a tv deal

That's why CG & SKY have had talks. He's said he won't sign any new deal. That leaves the rest to sort out any new deal SKY may or may not offer. SKY's SPL viewing figures are down 73% this season. Would they want a new deal here? who would finance/sponsor these new reconstructed leagues? CB are ending their SPL sponsorship at the end of season too. There's no replacement for them & who'd want to.They can talk reconstruction all they want but they need finance. Without us there's no finance

  18. I don't think it's fair to blame an individual or individual error for that CL exit, but if I was going to, it would probably be the mistake from Daily.

When you look back McGregor was prone to howlers every now & then, especially in OF games. I do agree with Real PapaBear that he was responsible for the Kaunus defeat

  19. I'm pretty sure it would only have affected us (agreeing to accept decisions without right of appeal) if we'd agreed to go to the first division as the SFA wanted. However we rejected this & went to the third division without further punishment after the SFL clubs voted us there. THEIR (and I mean SFA/SPL) big problem has yet to hit them in that the big financial contributors to the top division(SKY & CB) will either walk away or renew on much reduced terms at the end of this season.
