  1. Give it a month or two. The well is almost dry.

After the 120 day business review(and whatever cuts are made) the board will go back to the institutional investors for funding. How successful that will be remains to be seen. You cannot go into administration without having creditors seeking payment

  2. The spiral of self harm continues.

It's a total no win situation. King, eg, could wade in and buy up lots of cheap shares, at which point the price rises, and the Board of Uselessness tell him he needs to stump up several millions or else it's admin2 and his newly bought shares become worthless, again. Or potential investors stand well back, wary of being burned by the Moronosphere Collective, the share price plummets and it's admin2 because no-one will cover the costs.

I suppose, if we do go into administration again, it seems absolutely clear that 100% competent and independent administrators would have to be appointed. Perhaps that's the only way out of this nightmare, although it would be only the beginning of the horror for employees of the club.

And as much as Ian Durrant is a club hero, should have been a legend, that's a horrific salary to be taking out the club (a) if it's true and (b) given the absolute rubbish we've been treated to since he's been a coach.

How can we go into administration? We've no creditors

  3. Whether we like it or not this is an avenue we had to go down. Now that it has failed I hope thats the last we'll hear about it and cuts will be elsewhere hopefully starting with the £10m non playing staff wage bill. Our playing staff wage bill is about 35 percent of turnover which isnt that high.

  4. I've said it before and I'll say it again: players under contract will be going nowhere unless they agree to do so.Normally this involves a pay-off which I can't see happening somehow.

Anything which weakens the first team squad is suicidal in my opinion.I notice as per usual we have the 'spokesman' giving out the quotes. Usually that means it's made up by lazy journalists

  5. We have to be realistic, if this had been any other manager would we be so forgiving? we could be more forgiving if Ally's managerial career had started last season but he had form before that and it was a bit shaky.

We haven't been tested, Ally's final test will be next season and I hope he has learned enough to pass with honors.

Not sure I want him there next season. Possibly time for a change in the summer

  6. You might want to ask Mr Lawwell that one but here's the rule just in case:

    UEFA

    Article 15

    Special permission

    1

If a club qualifies for a UEFA club competition on sporting merit but has not undergone any licensing process at all or has undergone a licensing process which is lesser/not equivalent to the one applicable for top division clubs, because it belongs to a division other than the top division, the UEFA member association of the club concerned may – on behalf of such a club – request an

extraordinary application of the club licensing system in accordance with

    Annex IV.

    2

Based on such an extraordinary application, UEFA may grant special permission to the club to enter the corresponding UEFA club competition. Such an extraordinary application applies only to the specific club and for the season in question.

Very interesting. Seems that the application could be made after the club has qualified for a European place and not at the start of that season on the basis that the club could get a European place if it merited one

  7. If we were a new club how come we didn't need to apply to the SFA for membership?(the membership of course got transferred from oldco to newco)

And if we were a new club how come we got into the SFL? Wouldn't new clubs need to start out in the lower leagues?

  8. No we can't because we won't have 3 year's accounts in time unless the SFA make special application to UEFA which seems highly unlikely.

Season 2016/17 is our earliest likely re-entry based on performance on 2015/16 and accounts for 2014/15 published in late 2015.

If Whyte's takeover is deemed fraudulent then the SFA could make a special application

  9. Walter threatened to walk if Martin Bain was sacked, we do know that. Wasn't aware of Walter possibly being sacked. I think Sir Walter left too early. He should have hung around and smoothed things over through Whytes takeover. Ally was a walkover.

Absolutely no way WS would have stayed once Whyte got Rangers. WS knew SDM was forced to sell to Whyte and knew of Whyte's business background probably from AJ.He knew what was going to happen and got out.

Believe me all of this will be revealed.......

  10. sometimes I just fucking despair, I really do. The political leader of a country sends a letter congratulating the team which won that country's league and suddenly this is a sign that he is a closet Tim who did nothing to help us in our hour of need who is damned by association with colleagues who support celtic?

What is it about the prospect of indpendence and finally acting like a grown up country which makes some posters here revert to such ludicrous hyperbole?

Roseanna Cunningham. Michael Mather.MulhollandQC.Need I go on........

  11. I do recall him rattling the underside of the bar from 35 yards at the San Siro (v Inter in 84). The rebound fell to our current manager' date=' who subsequently produced the worst timed header in the history of football.[/quote']

And the Archie McPherson response - 'Ally McCoist oh dear oh dear'

  12. Calm down for goodness sakes. He sent Walter a letter when he won the league. He sends a letter to everyone that acheives something of note in Scottish sport. Let' s concentrate on the real villians please and not create fake enemies FFS

Have you seen some of his colleagues? Roseanna Cunningham for one.Arch Rangers-haters.

  13. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl-lower-divisions/rangers-to-hold-talks-with-cypriot-athos-solomou-1-3263212

RANGERS will hold transfer talks with Cyprus international Athos Solomou next week, when the player and his agent arrive in Glasgow.

The APOEL Nicosia full-back, 28, is due to fly to Scotland to discuss a move to the League 1 leaders and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement, with his APOEL contract expiring in June. Rangers monitored Solomou, who has both Champions League and Europa League experience, throughout last year and most recently watched him in APOEL’s Europa League group match against Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

Ibrox officials will now hold face-to-face discussions with the player and his agent next week. They must decide whether to pay a transfer fee and sign Solomou immediately or agree a pre-contract for a summer move. Both parties will also discuss wages and contract terms.

Solomou is a versatile right-back who can also play on the right side of midfield and is a regular in the Cyprus international squad. He was involved in APOEL’s run to the Champions League quarter-finals in season 2011/12, where they were eliminated by Real Madrid.

He has played all of his career in Cyprus with Apollon Limassol and APOEL, winning both the domestic league and cup. After 11 years in his homeland, he is keen to move abroad and Rangers are favourites to secure his signature.

Not sure what to make of this to be honest.

Doesn't seem to have played a lot of games lately for his club has he ? Seems to have been a sub most of this season from what I've found out. Have we researched this guy's background properly ?

  14. Remember the midfield of Russell, Bett and Redford - arguably better than we have now. A more than decent player for me.

    Shocked by this. RIP

Those three in MF with a certain Davie Cooper out wide. yes that would have been a MF and a half.Unfortunately in that side in the early 80s the defence and keeper were never up to the same standard since the Jardines, Forsyths,Jacksons etc past their best and those brought in were never anywhere near as good.

Sad news indeed. RIP Ian Redford

  15. I think that's a wildly optimistic outlook, Rab. Downsizing, not investing, will be the order of the day for the foreseeable.

When I look at our club stores and kit manufacturer I think we can guess who is having a rather large influence behind the scenes

  16. Hudson Fleck. Poor boy doesn't have a chance in life.

Always rated Fleck and was desperate for him to make it, he's the same as Naismith, McGregor, Davis etc though, jumped ship at the first opportunity.

He didn't have the best of relationships with Ally McCoist by all accounts. I'd suggest that had a big influence in his departure
