  1. The bottom line is that in order to force the necessary changes at the Club it's almost certainly going to require a buyout of a considerable majority shareholding, so I agree with Hildy in the sense that I think the best move would be a buyout, although I don't agree that it would have to be a buyout of the full shareholding because anything safely over the 50% point (say 55-60%) would give us back control of the Club.

At the very least we need to be looking at the 25-30% GreenCo/Easdale block being bought out, either by King or by a combination of rich fans and average fans. Getting ownership of that particular block of shares is crucial, but not simple and unfortunately it's likely to be costly. We could potentially be looking at £20m (or more!) just to get 25-30% of the Club.

DK won't buy out GreenCo/Easdale. DK only prepared to invest if the board can find no other sources of investment. I'm deeply suspicious that DK won't be the messiah many expect him to be. How much is he worth anyway? Does anyone know?

  2. Until Scottish football's league set-up gets a decent TV deal then there is little hope. When we got booted out the SPL Liewell & Dumbcaster sold Scottish football down the river when they signed that derisory SKY deal worth peanuts. They feared SKY would walk away altogether without Rangers in the top flight so they signed a new deal over 5 years which over the season isn't even worth ONE EPL game !!!!!

By comparison the Australian A league (which with all due respect isn't the greatest in the world) gets double what Scottish football gets in their TV deal. I was told recently too Norwegian football gets three or four times from their TV deal what Scottish football gets. whether true or not I've no idea but wouldn't surprise me.

all thanks to those two clowns........

  3. We're still seriously short in a few areas of the team. IMO we need:-

    1) a proper RB

    2) a CB to replace Jig

    3) creativity in MF

    4) pace up front in the wide areas

    5) someone up front who can get a similar amount of goals to play alongside Daly

We need to remember that next season by reaching the SC final could mean getting into the Europa league the following season.Signing no one this summer is not an option . We must strengthen the side

  4. McCoist was the wrong appointment at the wrong time by the wrong man(Bain).

Had the oldco not undergone administration & liquidation then I believe he'd be long gone by now as a poor Celt@c manager would have got the better of him.

My only concern is whether our board have the bottle to remove him by not renewing his rolling contract

  5. Sorry Rab, not sure what you mean by that, I wasn't saying they would mate.

All I'm saying bud is paying a 35 year old that salary makes no sense. Rangers do it but no one else in this country would

  6. Dave king..

I'd like to think so but I just can't see him throwing in £millions no questions asked

(provided of course he has got the amount of money people assume . How much is he actually worth? Does anyone know?)

  7. Dundee Utds annual wage bill is around £1.5m. We had more wages sitting in the stands than that and easily 3 times it on the park.

No chance of Dundee Utd paying a 35 year old £10k p.w. And rightly so. Makes no sense

  8. The young lads we had playing regular games last season would have given that Arab side a run for their money today. McKay, Naismith & Crawford for example, would not have been out of place at all.

I think all of them would have been out of place unfortunately. I believe only McLeod has the potential to be with us as we return to the top division - provided he is played in his best position I.e. Behind the forwards

  9. United fielded a 17 year old and an 18 year old against Rangers at Ibrox in a Scottish Cup semi-final.

We seem reluctant to play youngsters of that age in the team in the 3rd division - even after it was clear that we would win it by the length of Sauchiehall Street.

Perhaps our 17 year olds & 18 year olds aren't as good as Dundee Utd's 17 year olds & 18 year olds ?

  10. It seems this board are totally reliant on ST renewals. But will supporters pay increased prices to watch a sub-standard product ?

That is why we need fresh investment for the playing squad and to pay off a one or two. Surely it didn't need DK to tell the board that?

  11. By the looks of things the present board have no new investors, ST monies will be greatly down on this season with or without ST Trust. That being the case those who pay up front are in serious peril of losing out as we enter admin2.

Without fresh investment this board are finished. Their future is now totally dependent on the '120 day business review'. If it doesn't come up with constructive proposals to take Rangers forward then the board might as well go now

  12. Smith done more today than Wallace has for the last 6 months. Waldo is so overrated, he isn't even as half as good as some of our fans think he is.

Had Nottingham Forest offered £1.5m or thereabouts I'd have taken it

  13. Could we not have just stuck with Scott Gallagher. Given the 'youth' a chance? I say youth but he's actually almost 25 yet has played only 3 times for us.

Perhaps there are reasons hes only played 3 times. Maybe he's not considered to be good enough?

  14. Their third goal came from them breaking from Blacks free kick which he passed straight to the Utd player?

Black gave away needless possession when the game was at 2-1. Trying to be smart with a quick free kick he made a complete arse of it. He passed the ball straight to a Utd player when all our players were preparing for an attacking set piece. We were caught cold, Utd broke and scored. Granted Simmos clearance was howling but Black caused the break away. Had he waited, took his time, even passed the free kick onto someone who can execute a dead ball properly we may have scored from the set piece which should have went into the box instead of giving away possession so cheaply. It was embarrassing.

Bell doesn't fill me with any confidence, he has lost some really stupid goals this season as well. We won't be winning SPL titles with either of those guys in goal. Bells wage is a needless wage. Another poor signing.

Bell is very reluctant to come off his line. At the Albion Rovers goal at ibrox I was in the main stand right in line with the Rangers penalty box.

Bell should have come and at least punched it. He's been like that almost every time Ive seen him
