My immediate reaction when watching on tv was that their first goal looked offside. The VAR line looked squinty to me. Should it not be parallel to the lines in the grass? and the vertical line didn’t seem to touch Goldson. And it’s being said now their second was handball by Mugabe before he scored

One thing I’d point out regards Colak being slaughtered by McCoist for not squaring the ball to Sakala at the start of the second half was maybe he tho Sakala offside?

Horrendous first half. We’re only level thanks to a goalkeeper’s error. Our front three are non existent and the tempo of our play is too slow. And we need more MF creativity

He never really had serious competition for his place until Colak arrived

Disappointed to miss the game last night. Best part for me was seeing Colak getting a couple of goals. Hopefully he can resume his early season form between now & the end of the season. Could mean a very interesting end to the season

In my opinion there’s been a gross over reaction to the cup final defeat. You’d have thought we’d been humped 5-0 or something but the Scottish media always like to try & create a Rangers crisis And FWIW I thought MB was correct not starting Raskin & Cantwell in the final. Both lacked recent game time before joining Rangers. I do believe we need to wait until we see who goes & who comes in this summer before we start to assess MB.

The drop in performance levels in the second half was a worry. We’ve seen this happen before this season. Some said it was fitness levels which I wasn’t convinced about. I thought on Saturday McInnes changed their game plan second half and it worked for them. We did nothing til later on. Perhaps bringing on subs earlier & changing things would have been better.

Our forthcoming summer recruitment is going to be vital. We can’t afford to make the same mistakes we’ve made the last two transfer windows. Many will be leaving. Perhaps only a couple out of contract will be offered new deals. The new signings must be better than we’ve been getting recently

I must admit I already have doubts about our two January signings Cantwell & Raskin

He was unlikely to be a first pick but I thought he was a more than useful squad player who could fill in for other players in lesser games I can’t remember what the fee NYCFC were asking but it did seem rather high & didn’t think we’d be willing to pay it

I think too many of us overlook the role the DoF has ( or hasn’t played) lately. was this role not created to stop some of the things we’re now seeing mostly in squad recruitment & retention ?

Can’t help feeling however we’ve been handicapped by bad transfer windows in 2022. And that wasn’t just the fault of the then manager (GvB)

This seems to me to raise questions about our recruitment and indeed the DoF role at the club.
