  1. I've seen various people soften their attitude in recent weeks. Quite simply there's nothing positive to lay your hat on when it comes to the status quo. Hence, why we get the weak Ashley billionaire argument rather than something based on fact.

Doesn't matter who in effect controls the club, the net worth of the main benefactor shouldn't be a long term issue. We need to stand on our own two feet, not rely on the good nature of person A or B.

The boom and bust SDM spending era is long gone and will not be repeated. Some fans have still to accept that.

I'm of the opinion that if King wins the EGM (as I expect he will) he will try to involve Ashley in some way if it can be seen to be beneficial to Rangers.

The reliable @RichwilBBC saying if Capita get wind of a King majority 48 hours pre-EGM, they must inform NOMAD & Board. EGM may not happen.

Even if Kingco dont have a majority the board must surely realise their time is up. You only need to look at the empty seats at home games.

  3. We were just as terrible then as we are now. This is his legacy and he's an abomination of a football manager. I doubt he'll ever work again in management.

Rangers will be his first & last football management position. No one will employ him again after the shambles he left behind at ibrox. Thats why he is determined to get every last penny he is due from his ridiculous contract

  4. On listening to the various stakeholders discussing the new EPL deal announcement the other night, I couldnt help but think just how different the two countries were.

One is run professionally, with great positive PR, broadcasters falling over themselves to outbid each other for the rights, full stadiums, top players, and worldwide appeal. They made a big thing about the fact that the stadiums were full and with large travelling supports in attendance this led to a great atmosphere coming across on tv and this is what worldwide viewers loved.

Now move across Hadrians wall and see Ross County play Partick Thistle in front of about 2,000 people with about 100 of those away supporters, no atmosphere, no quality, no drama of relegation and teams desperate to stay up, no 4 CL places for the aspiring teams to aim for. We have a 1/50 favourite for a non-existent title race, the two teams relegated last season are in better shape than at least 2/3 of the teams in the league above them, outwith celtic no side has paid more than £250K for a player in years.

In what universe can the SPFL "insider" believe that our country's football can piggy-back onto the EPL deal and get a substantially increased offer for our game, just because the EPL have run their game professionally and can command big deals?

what you don't do in a small country like ours is throw the biggest club out of the top division and all the revenue it brought with it.

  5. SPFL's cash boost hopes dashed as Sky TV clause...

...could keep Scots football in poorhouse until 2019.

    By Keith Jackson

A SECRET clause in SPFL's deal with Sky Sports has given the broadcasters the option of extending their agreement, which was meant to expire in 2017, for a further two years - placing Scottish football a long way away from reaching the 70 per cent rise secured by the English Premier League.

SCOTTISH football is set to endure another four YEARS in the poorhouse before getting the chance to piggy-back on England’s latest TV cash bonanza.

Record Sport understands a secret clause in the SPFL’s deal with Sky, which was meant to expire in 2017, gives the broadcasters an exclusive option of a two-year extension. And although this should trigger a marginal increase in cash, it will be nowhere near the 70 per cent rise the English Premier League got in a £5billion package with Sky and BT.

Last night SPFL chief Neil Doncaster said only: “We are tied into a joint deal with BT Sport and Sky until 2017.”

But sources close to Hampden’s sixth floor insist Sky are in the box seat. As yet they have not indicated to the SPFL if they intend to exercise that option but a decision is expected soon.

Doncaster, though, will be hopeful of finding potential new future bidders.

It is strongly believed, for example, that Abu Dhabi-based beIN Sports were heavily engaged in the Premier League bidding and that their interest helped to significantly drive up the final price.

Our source said: “We believe there were a number of TV companies involved in the discussions with the EPL and the hope is that they are looking to find a way into the British game. For that reason, they may also wish to participate in any future talks with the SPFL.”

And who can forget in the summer of 2012 when Rangers were stupidly voted out the SPL, the sight of Doncaster & Liewell strolling thro' the airport departure lounge as they went to sign a SKY TV deal worth peanuts just to try & prove they didn't need Rangers ?

Scottish football is on its knees and skint. Similar smaller countries such as Norway, Holland etc have vastly superior TV deals.

If Kingco win this EGM I realise PM & JG will have much to do at Rangers but one of their top priorities must be the removal of Doncaster, Liewell & Regan from their positions in Scottish football.

  6. RANGERSRAB, I believe you were telling us how all 5 had played at much higher standards previously?

Of the five Mbabu was the only one I hadnt heard of. However he is a RB and not exactly a position we're strong in at the moment.

The other four should walk into our team at present but like T4C seems to be suggesting their fitness seems to be a big concern.

Why sign players on loan if theyre injured?
