Blatter and Platini banned from world football for 8 years each.
RANGERRAB replied to boabie's topic in General Football Chat
It will be interesting to see just how deep the investigations actually go and if so whether any of the national associations get embroiled in this. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they did. -
My understanding is you can appeal a sending off for a straight red card but not for 2 yellows. What still seems strange here is the referee had a perfect view of the tackle & deemed it dangerous enough to merit a straight red. Was he wrong in any way?

You need the right type of player to play as the lone striker up front. He needs to be good on the deck and in the air and be capable of holding the ball up to bring supporting team mates into play. A Jelavic-type would be best suited from the strikers we've had most recently. The likes of Miller & Clark would be totally unsuitable for this demanding role. We need to rectify this.

I didn't think this could happen. I thought it was only if the referee missed the incident?

I can always vividly remember one of the first TV interviews Souness did after he became Liverpool manager. He was asked about his time as Rangers manager & spoke of Scotish football having people who didn't like to see Rangers doing well. I never gave it much thought at that time but fast forward to these past few years and you can see exactly what he meant.

Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020
RANGERRAB replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
No strikers? I'd despair if Miller & Clark were still getting a game -
It is Plague vs Choleraup there ...
RANGERRAB replied to der Berliner's topic in General Football Chat
Hilarious. During the EBT years the sheep were rank rotten. They never won a single trophy. What's it got to do with them? And it's good to see they recognise we're still the same club. Why would they be protesting over a 'deid club' ? -
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard

Very true about taking our chances which is why we need a couple of quality strikers next month -
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard

I think it's ridiculous to compare this season's team to last season's car crash under McCoist. Despite our disappointing form at the moment I believe it can be sorted out next month by bringing in 2 or 3 players to strengthen the positions which need strengthening i.e. up front. I also believe both us & hibz will both be promoted this season. Whoever is in the play-offs will coast it IMO. -

RANGERRAB replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Would Allen be daft enough to agree to that move? A right slap in the face if ever there was one. He effectively said to Hibz he was too good for them now he could go back on loan to them because he can't get a game for the yahoos -
Paul Murray urges radical thinking to address Scottish football decline
RANGERRAB replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The first thing that needs to be done to address the decline in Scottish football is the removal of Liewell's placemen Doncaster & Rhegan from their respective positions. -
We need to prioritise on the football side of things. Promotion is no longer the foregone conclusion it was supposed to be. The team needs urgent investment to guarantee promotion & get a good basis for next season. Can Mr KING provide that investment as he previously appeared to suggest?

Milne keen to see Rangers and Hibs in top division
RANGERRAB replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The other thing to remember here is that the SKY TV deal LIewell & Dumbcaster signed back in 2012 must be nearing its completion. -
Milne keen to see Rangers and Hibs in top division
RANGERRAB replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Where to start with this sheepie nonsense........ He and nine other SPL chairmen took a decision to vote Rangers out the SPL in 2012 presumably for the now infamous 'sporting integrity' presumably due to insolvency as they saw it. I've often maintained they believed that insolvency was caused by debts most notably the BTC. Now it transpires that insolvency may have been deliberately caused in order to perpetrate a fraud allowing a number of individuals to acquire Rangers & its assets at a value way below its true market value.Hence the impending trials awaiting these individuals. And if these persons are convicted is there a chance Milne & his nine cohorts may face financial damages from oldco shareholders? Remember the then KIllie chairman Michael Johnson stating this was the reason KIllie abstained in the vote. If this is some sort of olive branch to the current Rangers board it must be rejected as it should also be rejected if it is intended to save Dundee Hibz from relegation. He's never before stated he wanted us back AFAIK. Milne, Thompson and their leader-in-chief Liewell must be brought to account for that decision they took whatever it takes. -
Unless MW gets resources to improve the team I don't see him staying here. A Swansea or Fulham offer will come in eventually & he'll go.

We have the best side, the best manager and the best training ground...
RANGERRAB replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The vast majority of the Rangers support will not pay to watch a sub-standard product. I despair paying £500 for a ST to see Nicky Clarke still in the team. This team need improving or the crowds will start to decline. Unfortunately people such as yourself seem to think we should all turn up regardless just because of the boardroom changes earlier this week but it is what we're watching on the park which matters most and in recent weeks there's been a marked deterioration -

RANGERRAB replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
We will only have a strong finish if we get 2 or 3 quality players next month. We are still well short in 2 or 3 positions, most noticeably up front -
We need three or four quality players too, particularly up front where we're struggling. Miller and Clark aren't the answer
-
How does this help Rangers ? Can someone explain? MW needs serious money to improve the quality of the squad, particularly up front. Can this sort of thing provide it?

Neil Doncaster has floated the idea of enlarging the top flight to 14 teams
RANGERRAB replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Fans do want a bigger top division. No doubt about that. It's only a question of the number of teams in it which is up for debate. -
Not a record is it?

Brunton Park, Carlisle Under Water
RANGERRAB replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in General Football Chat
Not the first time this has happened to Brunton Park. Happened a few years ago too IIRC.
