  1. Just feel that it is important that we don't lose sight of the state our club was in only a few months back. We all know that those who were the so-called custodians of the club had no real interest in the welfare of Rangers. On the park the displays against Motherwell, who themselves, were a struggling outfit, underlined our poverty of talent. It is correct that loan players bring with them uncertainty but surely it is a huge relief that our new management team appear to be working to a sensible strategy in developing young talent, improving fitness and putting essential building blocks in place. If that necessitates making the use of talented, not the usual type of loan players, so be it. Some feel that it is essential to buy in talented players but when challenged to name such players, the response isn't loud. There are bound to be some mistakes made and decisions taken that might not be successful but if the people who have stood by our club through what has been a horrendous time, can avoid impatience, when setbacks surface, there does seem evidence that the approach being taken by those in the boardroom and in particular by those working with the playing staff, at first team level and below, will bring back the good times that we are seeking and deserve.

All I want is the best eleven players we can get on the park playing for Rangers. If that includes loan signings out to progress their careers at other clubs then so be it.

What I don't want to see again is 'Rangers men' like we got last season who were pinching a living out of Rangers who were well past their best & should have been nowhere near the club. That includes managers too.

  2. What pisses me of with load deals is this.If this boy is as good as they say,the press etc start asking-what do think of the club-"its great,my teamates are great, the fans are superb etc.

The boy cant say anything else. Then it turns,"lets see if we can make him an offer that will convince him to stay".

This boy like most others is here to further HIS career, nothing else.Lets enjoy him whilst hes here,we are but a stepping stone for him.

This is the case with 99% of successful loans.

    Its understadable,but self deluding.

If this youngster from Arsenal is as good as he's being made out & he plays his part in what we require this season I.e. Getting promotion & winning the SC to get us into the EL next season then I couldn't give a damn whether he's here to further his career by using Rangers as a stepping stone or not.

We need to get back to the top division and competing for the title plus getting back into the EL/CL as soon as possible. If that means loan signings like this one then so be it as long as they're a significant improvement on the SPL journeymen dross McCoist bestowed upon us.

  3. Right now we aren't part of that one horse race. Further, if they gain entry to CL riches then it will give them even more of a financial surplus over us to be able to maintain the "one horse race" status. Call me small-minded but I see them gaining entry into the CL group as serving the purpose of only one team, Celtic.

The co-efficient points that they pick up for Scotland on the way will be a very insignificant amount when considering we wouldn't have been in Europe for 5 yrs by the time we get back there - our own club co-efficient will see to it that it will be very difficult for us to make the CL group stages. The country co-efficient wont have that big an impact on us getting easier games.

I completely understand where you are coming from - but my only concern is Rangers. And when I look at the pros and cons of Celtic gaining CL group stage qualification I see there being far more CONS (from a Rangers perspective) and far more PROS (from a Celtic perspective). And for those reasons I hope they get papped oot. And by a cricket score too, just to ensure there are no nerves surrounding the outcome.

Further, they as a Club did everything that they possibly could to KILL us. It will be a cold day in hell before I will forget that, and it will be an even colder day in hell when I wish them well in ANY competition.

I reckon the MW appointment will have ruffled a few feathers over in the East End. He will have access to players(as loans probably) that the likes of McCall or McInnes wouldn't have had. For that reason alone it may not be the one horse race next season you suggest.

You also have to remember they have this ceiling of £3m that they're prepared to spend on a player & you dont get a lot for that money these days do you? And they've had some spectacular flops over these past few seasons have they not?

  4. Does the UEFA fair play plan not state that football teams are not allowed monies from local councils as it could give unfair advantages with clubs with richer councils benefiting more. I am not 100% sure but I think it does.

Didn't stop Swansea City did it?

  5. Rangers should cash in on Templteon by claiming on their insurance on him, he's clearly crocked imo.

I'm sure they would if possible. Bell too who seems to be injured a lot for a goalkeeper.

The reality is that the likes of Templeton, Shiels, Bell etc now have no long term future at Rangers. They are all running down their lucrative contracts which no one else (except McCoist)would ever dream of giving them. The sooner they're all gone the better so MW and SDoW can bring in superior replacements.

  6. Think law will go.

There are a number of players entering the final year of their contracts and I doubt any will get offered new ones during the course of this season.

Law is one of them and I wouldnt be surprised to see him go to the English Championship or League1 before the transfer window shuts at the end of this month

  7. Yes I hold up my hands and say I wanted him out at the end of last season but just goes to show what a change of manager can do. Let's hope Miller's goalscoring run continues and Waghorn contributes too

  8. They knew they would win because they knew petrie would play ball.

I would like to know why it was hibz(or was it stubz) were so adamant they wouldn't sell Allan to Rangers.

Was it because Rangers are 'rivals' in the same division? Does that therefore mean if/when they're back in the top division they will not sell a player to any club in that division?

  9. Now they have Scott Allen the stands will be flowing over. Season ticket sails will be increased by thousands.

How many ST holders have the yahoos actually got?

Me thinks there's a seville calculator at work here or they've got tens of thousands who buy ST's but don't go to games

  10. He has signed a 4 year deal.

I'll bet he is long gone well before 4 years.

He'll soon discover(as Kenny Miller found out) the utter hatred these people have towards anyone from a Rangers background

  11. @gerrymcculloch1: Apparently Rangers were happy to pay Scott Allan same wage as Celtic. Hibs just wouldn't sell and player had to get out.

That is probably correct what McCulloch has said.

What I think many of us cannot understand is if Allan is such a great Rangers man why has he signed for the yahoos especially after all he has been saying these past few weeks.

  12. Rab,ifyou cant work that out then i cant help you!!

If this is supposed to be some sort of gesture by the yahoos to get one over the new Rangers manager then it's a pretty pointless gesture as MW's interest in Allan was lukewarm at best IMO. Sure he'd have signed him but was never going to push the boat out to get him was he?

I think you'll find MW will have other targets in mind over the next 12-18 months who will eclipse Allan

  13. The manager has moved on, I think the fans should follow suit.

With the contacts down south MW has I'm we will be getting players arriving far superior to Scott Allan.

And for that reason alone I'm curious why the yahoos wanted him

  14. FWIW I thought Allan MIGHT have been a useful addition to our MF but that was based mostly on last season where we struggled badly at times. But we move on as they say. This season has only just started and we can already see an improvement without Scott Allan. And I believe MW will still add to our squad (if he can move on 2 or 3 he's inherited) and will we will improve further.
