  1. Very sad Sandy won't be at Ibrox today to see what should be our final league game ever at home outside the top division. Our journey is now more or less over as we are back in the top division where we belong.

At the game today we should all spare a thought for Sandy for the time and effort he put in during those dark days of 2012. Without the likes of him who knows what could have happened as our enemies sought to put us out of business altogether.

The renaming of the Govan Stand to the Sandy Jardine Stand was a most fitting tribute to one of Rangers most favourite sons. It was richly deserved as I'm sure we Doddie would have been proud of that honour bestowed on Sandy

  2. I actually think he was the right appointment for them. He just fell foul of the Scottish mentality. Unlike warbs he couldn't get players to buy into his hard work

Perhaps he was but he wasn't 'celt@c-minded' as they say.

We can all debate what they mean by that but I firmly believe it plays right into our hands as they'll reject decent managers because of it. Ask Strachan.

  3. It really is dreadful organisation by the numpties who run Scottish football that a team finishes its league campaign and has to wait three weeks before playing in the SC final whether it's Rangers or not

  4. Moyes could be a really good appointment for them. He flopped at Man Utd and Real Sociedad but the Scottish league isn't the Premiership or La Liga.

At Everton he had very low resources compared to the sides surrounding him and was regularly reaching the top 6 or 7. He took them from battling relegation every season to being one of the best teams in the Premiership, even reaching the top 4 once.

I don't think Moyes will become the yahoos manager.

Looks like he could be going back to Everton as Martinez hasn't exactly set the heather on fire in his three years there.

  5. Just give it a rest. McCoist got this completely wrong.

    One of many.

McKay was out on-loan for most of 'Project McCoist'. Perhaps he's seeing the benefit now. Others weren't so fortunate

  6. Buying Allan for approx 300K made sense for Celtic but sending him out on loan to a Dundee or Motherwell type of team and 20/30 first team games would have been better for his development. You have a player that could appreciate substantially in value but not if you keep him and he gets lost in a sea of midfielders.

why would they do that? Allan is 24. What further development could/should he need?

  7. Current market value:

    £131k

I don't think transfer market is very accurate to be honest.

Yes but you need to use one of those Seville calculators that the timz use.

They always seem to add a few extra zeros on at the end......

  8. I may be wrong with my percentages so it may not be correct.

However our season ticket cash didn't really support the wages before we went down. I don't recall the prices being out of order before, and the club needs cash so I don't have too much of an issue if it returns to the same prices as it was when we were last in the SPL.

A massive hike may see many not renewing. That needs to be considered

  9. Am I right in saying that prices fell by a third when we went down to the bottom division and then there was a 10% increase and then nothing? If so we would be looking at an increase of 36% to bring it back to the same levels as it was before we went down.

Such an increase would be madness.

We don't have anything like the same size of wage bill before we went down to the bottom division.

  10. Nothing against Scott Allan. Hibs wouldn't sell him to us their rivals and quite right. Tims done their old pal Petrie a favour by paying out good money for him. doubt if Deila had any say in the matter. Allan is a professional footballer and doesn't have the luxury of being a fan. ( like Kenny, Mojo, Alfie Conn etc.) If Warburton still rates him, I'd have no problem if he eventually came to us.

paying out good money for him? LOL

stubz said he was worth £1m yet accepted well under half of that

  11. They bought Allen to try and keep us down for another season, the same reason they loaned Hibs Stokes who I would gamble is having a very minimal part of his wage paid by Hibs. Would they have loaned him to Raith on the same terms, I think not.

Talk about financial doping and sporting integrity eh.

I doubt Deila had seen much of Allan at all. As you say they signed him to try & help hibz like they loaned them Stokes & Henderson and gave them McGeoch.

    HOW SAD IT ALL FAILED...............

  12. That's my understanding too. I'd guess that oldco would need to pay HMRC everything it's due before that happens. I understand that there will be a payout due to the court case win but I doubt it's sufficient to give 100% so it seems to me that it's unlikely that it will be reversed.

so why did HMRC allow Whyte to build up this debt?

(assuming we're not talking about the EBT's)

  13. Allan needs to leave them and soon, get a regular appearance for some smaller Spfl club. Work hard and hope for some bigger team rescuing him again.

no other SPFL could afford his wages though.

He had a choice: stay with hibz and sign a pre-contract with Rangers in january(assuming MW actually wanted him) or sign for the yahoos. He made the wrong choice
