Which is why I want Tav and the gang (including Hagi) gone ASAP.
I still don't think what he said was "dumb" though.
If we get rid off them as you say who replaces hem?

So is Michael Beale.
Maybe Beale is an overpromoted coach.
Difference between a coach & a manager

He's a good coach.
Shaky - very shaky - first few months. But, you could see what he was trying to do. That was my point.
I mentioned Kompany at Burnley, too.
He’s an experienced coach too.

It is a sad state of affairs, Hagi is miles better than Lammers and Roofe is still our best striker imo. Yet we know neither will start Tuesday.
Morelos, Colak and Sakala have gone & been replaced by Lammers,Danilo, Dessers & Sima. That is beginning to worry me

I’m rarely in agreement with Mason but what would a public enquiry tell us we don’t already know?
The fact is Celtic deliberately covered up known child abuse for decades at their boys club which produced many players for their first team.
The court cases & prosecutions are ongoing as far as I can see
What we need to see now is action from the SFA taken against Celtic.

It's early days but some things are already starting to become clear.
1. Lammers and Sima have brought almost nothing to the team that we didn't already have in Hagi and Sakala.
2. Hagi will leave if he continues to be sidelined to make way for under performers. Probably in January. That would be a tragedy.
3. When he came to Rangers Colak immediately did what he was signed to do - score goals. His replacement with Dessers and Danilo, together with continuing to cold-shoulder Roofe, has taken us backwards.
I'm genuinely confused about the lack of clear direction from Beale. I can't see a discernible football vision or a strategy to achieve it. New players seem constantly confused, old players are benched and selection seems to be on anything but merit. What's the plan, where are we going?
The next 4 games will tell us a lot. PSV home & away, inform Ross County away then Celtic at home.

My comment on the game. Why are we playing Lammers ahead of Hagi?
Because Beale signed Lammers

If he's the only dud out of all Beale's signings, I'll take it. Unfortunately, I fear there's more.
Might be easier counting the successes. Hope I’m wrong

Has anyone had the chance to see Desser’s disallowed 1st half goal again ?
should it have stood?

Cedric Itten mk2. Hope I’m wrong but that’s what it looks like right now.
Itten looked a better player than Lammers

Lammers and Dessers were the two strikers today.
Lammers was completely anonymous today. He hasn't usually been played as a striker for us - usually deeper, as a #10.
Agreed.
As I’ve said on this forum before Hagi is a better option than Lammers from what I’ve seen so far

We're too slow and lack intensity, which makes us easy to handle for mediocre opposition.
I hate him but Postecoglu figured out how to deal with Scottish sides by going at them, fast and relentless.
Skippy used 2 wide players to attack defences from wide areas in the final third. We don’t do that as we’ve not got the personnel to do so

Not only have we been playing with two up front for weeks (months, even), we did do something different today. We looked to be playing a 3-1-4-2 in attack.
We discussed it at half-time (see page 8 above).
The structure is irrelevant, for me. It's the principles of play that are not working: there's no movement, the passing is slow and unsure, there's no intent.
It'll be the same whether it's a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 3-5-2.
Really? Who were the two up front in that starting line up? Lammers isn’t my idea of a centre forward as he’s never in that role often enough that I can see & Matondo is a wide player. Only Dessers is an out and out striker in my book & he got little service
The reality is more and more managers have got Beale’s number & a good manager will be able to change a game by changing formation & tactics

I often wonder if we’re our own worst enemy going into this sort of cup tie against lower league opponents.
Morton are a decent championship side probably comparable to the bottom half of the SPFL premiership. They played well today.
They gave us a fright today as did Partick Thistle in the SC last season, another Championship side.
We think it’s gonna be dead easy in cup ties(especially at home)as it’s a lower league team. Not always the case.
That said, once again we struggled against a team who sat in & played to hit us on the break. We played the same way we do every week with one up front and struggled to get any service to the lone forward who was heavily marked.
It’s been said before, but could we go 3-5-2 & used two wide players putting in endless balls into the box?
Or( I hate to say this) do what Postecoglou did with the yahoos and have one forward but two wide players who need to contribute with goals as well as feeding the forward?I found it very frustrating to watch for long periods today

Since Gerrard became Rangers manager 5 years ago & the yahoo’s allocation was cut, I think I’m correct in saying they’ve only won twice at ibrox whereas 2016-18 (when we returned to the top division & they had the full Broomloan)they won every game at ibrox.
Maybe that’s got something to do with their current stance0 -
Wee word for Jack Butland tonight. He was superb & kept us in the game first half.

Delighted to get through but we’ll need a huge improvement against PSV.
I’m still not convinced about any of the 4 forwards we’ve recruited but there’s time yet I suppose1 -

I think Tav, Souttar and Raskin would be better being subbed - all three have been woeful.
Wot, take off captain marvel ?
that’s not allowed is it…as Dujon Sterling will soon find out

Lucky not to be 3-0 down. Servette keeper not had a shot to save yet. I’d get Sima & Danilo off as they’re contributing nothing.
And don’t get me started on that Tavernier free kick after 10 minutes….🤬
1 -
Am I correct in saying if Servette were to go thro tonight we’d go straight into the EL group stages & wouldn’t need to play any more qualifiers?

I wouldn’t expect to see anymore signings until we’ve moved on the likes of Kamara and Ben Davies.

Standard procedure. If its a hand ball when a goal is scored it is automatically chalked off - no need for an "on-field" review.
What was weird was that once it was established Cifu handled the ball and goal was disallowed that Robertson wasnt then asked to look at the foul on Balogun that was a definite penalty IMO.
Was that at the same corner when Cifuentes ‘scored’ ?

Was it not strange that the referee gave the Cifuentes goal but then disallowed it without even checking the TV monitor?

Meant to say did the Kieran Dowell goal yesterday not remind you of Jorg Albertz 20 odd years ago?
where I sit in the SJ rear I had a great view of it…..what a strike🤠
It’s a while since we’ve had a naturally left sided MF player like Dowell. Hope he can keep this up. His career did seem to have stalled a bit before he joined ifs.
