  1. Much will depend on what reaction we get following Wednesday night’s humiliation.

Players, especially senior players, will have had their own discussions about the game and what went wrong.
They’ll also no doubt be asking themselves if they’ve still got confidence in the manager & his tactics and game plans. Most games this season haven’t been great to watch.

His team selection tomorrow will be crucial. I’d suspect Roofe & Matondo will occupy 2 of the 3 positions up front. Who gets the other one is anyone’s guess from any from the, as yet, unconvincing summer signings.

    We shall wait & see….

Their 3rd goal killed us last night just after we had managed to get a toe-hold in the game. It is criminal to lose a goal so soon after scoring, especially from a set-piece. It looked like whoever was marking De Jong lost him. It had happened a couple of times in first half as well.

We then capitulated to a heavy defeat. PSV deserved their win and hence deserve to progress.

We matched them at Ibrox where a draw was probably a fair result. Last night their midfield and forwards clicked (they didn't at Ibrox) and they looked a very good team.

Whilst victory was always a long shot, the capitulation was the most worrying factor along with more individual errors.

Our midfield being overran meant our defence was exposed and our forward players were strayed of possession for large parts of the game.

Beale needs to be brave with his team selection in Sunday as our best chance of victory is dominating them in midfield and attacking at pace.

Taking off Raskin & replacing him with Lammers didn’t help although he did set up the goal. We were then overrun in MF

It depends on whether or not we see some sense of progression and direction emerging but if the current mystifying situation continues into November then there's little point wasting more time with him.

We've become a club that gambles on inexperienced managers - Warburton, Caixinha, Gerrard, Van Bronckhorst, Beale - and very little of it has come off. Personally, I'm struggling to see what has changed since last season, other than a suggestion we might actually have gone backwards.

What worries me about Beale is most of the players he’s bought don’t seem to be as a good as the ones he’s let go.

  4. Unless something drastic happens we’re heading for the EL. Their keeper won’t have had many easier games than this.

We continue to give the ball away too easily at times & are creating very little

Dessers again unimpressive. Maybe time to replace him with Sima or Danilo.

I wouldn't mind giving them the full Broomie again, as long as we got the same location at their midden, not stuck in the corner with restricted views. The only reason we have a famous fixture (and the worldwide interest) is the atmosphere and rivalry at these fixtures, which has been diluted since the allocations were restricted. The poisonous atmosphere is a sellable asset and while the SPFL couldnt sell water in a desert this is still the best change we have of getting bigger tv deals which is what we all need.

On the basis that it seems really unlikely that we will ever return to this, I can definitely see a return to around 1000 tickets each, and for me this has to be up in the rear of the club deck out of sight of the cameras. Police it properly and it should be no problem. Sell the season tickets accordingly like we used to do, which was effectively a ST for all home games apart from the OF games.

If they get the Broomloan they get the whole stand behind the goal.

They’re not prepared to give us the whole stand behind the goal at their ground.

    Hence the stand off…

  6. A decent result & better performance although we did ride our luck a bit at times.

The better the opposition the better we play it seems.

At least we’re still in the tie. I thought Matondo gave them problems when he came on. He will be pleased to have scored his first Rangers goal.

I thought they were very nervy at the end. Hopefully we’ve given them something to think about for next week.
And once again I thought Butland was excellent in goal but I still think we’ve one or two issues up front to be sorted

So now Hagi has become the latest player to become a better player the more he doesn't play.

He's looked off the pace since returning from injury and look slow and languid. He never had pace to burn, but lost 1/2 yard.

We wanted rid of all these failures, now we want to keep them. Make your mind up folks.

    Is Hagi a failure ?
