Delighted to get a 1-0 against a top 6 La Liga side although a difficult watch at times. I’m still of the opinion that too often we give away possession needlessly & too many players just want to get rid off the ball as soon as they get it.
Still, a great result tonight to enjoy. Hopefully a confidence booster going forward

Am I the only one who thought Lundstrum had an excellent game?
Yes you might be.
I thought his carelessness almost cost us 2 or 3 times

Corruption, cheating and criminality is in their DNA. Not necessarily in that order though.

If Real Betis have a goalkeeper crisis then let’s hope we can exploit it on Thursday.
But too often I think we find ourselves in games where we’ve barely had a shot on target for long periods of time & the opposition keeper is having an easy time of it

Commentator said in the first half Betis have rested a few players with Thursday night in mind, no idea who?
Doubt that very much
English, Spanish teams etc quite often play fringe players when they’re playing in the EL & CL.
they keep their best players for their domestic leagues

As Roofe gets his second goal in consecutive league games wrongly chopped off by VAR….

Same old, same old…….lacking creativity middle to front & needlessly giving the ball away at times. The goal was the one exception in an uneventful first half.
St Johnstone haven’t threatened at all but all it takes is one lapse in concentration

Be interesting to see how many of the 9 summer signings are in the starting XI today.

Unfortunately for him, he’s now surviving on a game by game basis.

Robbie Ure has signed for Anderlecht after deal with AZ fell through. East Kilbride were also interested but Robbie has decided to chance his luck in Belgium. Good luck to the lad.
Presumably he’s not in the anderlecht first team squad

I think Beale needs to be given until the end of next month. His signings such as Dessers, Danilo, Sima & Lammers might need a bit of time to settle & show what they’re capable of.
But unless there’s improvement I think the end’s inevitable for Beale….

Apparently Ross Wilson inserted a clause in Beales contract that if we remove him within 12 months we "only" have to pay £500K compensation.
Heard that too about Beale’s contract.
Similar to what Moyes had at Man Utd. He had a lengthy contract but if Man Utd got rid off him before the end of the first year he was due little or no compensation.
He bombed in his first year & got binned by ManUtd

There are a few good ones out of work.
And what sort of salaries would these guys be looking for do you think?
Stick them on a 3 year deal & one year into the contract things aren’t working out we’ve got a hefty compensation package to shell out

To answer the question you first have to decide whether it's likely there might be some advantage in delaying what to me seems an inevitability. In other words, have you seen anything in Beale's leadership that suggests a reversal of current misfortunes.
For myself, I see nothing to hang hope on and I would sack him now before even more damage is done. Basically, I think we have a windbag whose entire focus is on his own status.
Sack Beale & who takes over? Who succeeds him?
we can’t go back to the Murty-type nonsense again

Andy Halliday made a good point on SSB tonight. He said regarding Rangers starting XI yesterday only 3 were summer signings and had Barasic been fit only 2 would have played & one was the GK
Beales summer recruitment will soon cost him his job unless something dramatic happens and soon. Same as Warburton’s 2016 summer recruitment cost him his job

I agree with your point, but I actually think all the new forwards fit - except Dessers.
Lammers' stats suggested a pressing forward, which fits a high press. I never thought he was a #10, which is where he has been played. Cantwell is far superior and had been very effective in that role.
But, you're right, it has been a mess, in terms of set-up and use of players. It's a different front three every week!
I don't know why he hasn't built on some interesting ideas, re the diamond. Perhaps he can't, or doesn't know how?
I have other issues with recruitment, too.
Why don’t you think Dessers fits?
I thought at last he was coming onto a game yesterday. He set up 2 goals although both disallowed in the first half.
Im more concerned about Danilo who’s too lightweight & Sima who looks lost to me

We shouldn’t sack Beale until we’ve identified a successor. We mustn’t repeat the Murty nonsense or the B team coaches nonsense when Gerrard left

ex-SPFL referee Bobby Maddem has now said it was a foul.
He’s talking 💩
The defender was caught in possession. If anything Dessers was fouled.

I see ex-SPFL referee Steve Conroy has now said Roofe’s goal should have stood as there was no ‘clear & obvious’ error by the referee who did originally give the goal. VAR should not have intervened. The Celtic defender was caught in possession by Dessers. Simple as that

Going back to last year, bringing in a rookie after sacking GvB was just madness

Dessers dispossess the defender. Nothing more in it. Never a foul.

Did the VAR ref call Robertson over to have a look at it? It looked to me at the time he’d given the goal.

Cheated out of a first half goal but Beale’s signings Dessers, Danilo, Lammers & Sima will see him gone. Only question is when

Is the EPL still the richest league in the world? Or is it now the Saudi league ?

We need to learn how to use his pace to better effect. We’re not always doing that at present
