The board have hopefully learned from past mistakes.

You can't just stick with a mediocre manager when you have to win things.  Our home record is a total joke under Murty.

You have to realise too that this is the second time Murty had inherited a failed manager's squad of players none of whom he signed.

The only time Murty got to sign his own players was in January this year. And I'd suggest the players he brought in have all done reasonably well.

"Ann Budge has outlined her vision for Hearts in a Q&A with fans.

The Jambos owner has revealed summer transfer plans, given an update on Tynecastle and responded to questions about Financial Fair Play.

Budge insisted Rangers will be forced to go through the same stringent FFP checks as every other club.

Questions were put to the Tynecastle chief by Hearts fans and she responded by insisting Rangers wouldn't be treated differently to any other team.

Budge is well known for her attempts to connect with fans and in her latest question and answer session the group, from Hearts website hmfckickback.co.uk, asked if the club would be seeking assurances on Rangers meeting FFP regulations for UEFA licences ahead of next season.

The FFP regulations were established by UEFA seven years ago and updated in 2015 in a bid to prevent clubs spending more than they earn in the pursuit of success. The rules are also designed to stop clubs careering into financial turmoil.

Clubs failing to meet criteria can be refused a UEFA licence. Budge was asked if Hearts would seek assurances from the SFA that Rangers meet the FFP regulations ahead of next season having "publicly reported substantial losses in each of its five years existence" and given that they are requiring "further funding of £7.2m over the next two seasons as identified in their last accounts".

Budge said: "All I can say is that at Hearts, we have to jump through a lot of hoops to ensure we comply with FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules.

"We must assume that UEFA does the same with all other clubs and it's UEFA who decide if a team can play in Europe or not. It's not a question of whether a club is in debt. It's a case of, is that club in a position to pay the debt back.

"We have to complete enormous amounts of paperwork to UEFA, the SFA, the SPFL. When we took over in 2014, we had to attend a lot of meetings to prove we could run a financially viable football club. There is no reason to think Rangers are being treated any differently from any other team in that respect."

If you ever want to really annoy an Aberdeen fan tell them that when Aberdeen FC play five-a-sides at training and the players split themselves into two teams and the teams they pick are Rangers fans v Celtic fans. That's true too.

And Aberdeen only seem to do well when they've got an ex-Rangers man as manager

I still think it has to be case by case because there will always be 1 or 2 who are worth it.

Brimingham signed Barry Ferguson aged 31 and a half and he went on to have two oustanding seasons in the best league in the world. Followed by a 3rd with Blackpool in the championship (finishing 5th and reaching the play off final). Playing more than 40 games each of those 3 seasons.

Steven Davis is a current example who has fans more divided than MacGregor. He's 33 but has played almost every game for a strong side (finishing 6th-8th in 4 out of 5 of his seasons with them) in the best league in the world up until the last 2-3 months. Most of our signings need to appreciate in value but not all.

Unfortunately our recent record in signing players in their mid thirties has been lamentable

... I am still somewhat at a loss why people can't see beyond the manager when shit results happen. We had not really great alternatives for creative midfield on the bench, and Morelos may or may not have made a difference earlier. As has been said, the lad has been playing football for ages now and needs a few minutes rest every now and then, for body and mind.

You would hope that Murty, Nicholl and Johansson get their act together and find a way past teams like Killie, be that home and away. But if players simply don't reach their standards, what shall he do on the day? Just saying ...

The manager has to take responsibilty. The buck stops with him.

Against CEltc when they went down to 10 men Brenda immediately made a substitution & put on a defender and re-arranged his system. Murty didn't seem to do anything. He didn't get any benefit from having an extra man.

That sort of decision making ( or not decision making) should be noticed by the board. Murty should be judged on the same criteria as his predecessors. I'd suggest results must improve drastically between now & the end of the season if he is to remain in charge next season

  6. I think losing twice at home in the space of a week has done Murty no favours.

He failed to take advantage of Celtc going down to 10 men &  his team selection yesterday with Cummins up front on his own was madness.

Whatever the board decide to do they must make up their minds pretty quick as we could be playing an ELQ in just over 3 months time. If there is to be a new manager he needs to be in place long before then.

Tactically Murty has got it right on a few occasions, but there's as many he's got wrong. How many home games have we watched when the other manager makes a tactical switch and seemingly outfoxes us?

There are other better obtainable managers out there and we should be lining them up already.

    Who ?

I'd get Hardie back from loan and then we could play 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 which would suit both him and Cummings.

What about Morelos who's our top scorer ??

Hardie's contract is up at the end of the season. He'll be off.

  9. I think today was the day that convinced me Murty should not get the job full time.

losing to 10 man Celtic was bad enough but today was even worse

what was he thinking today about playing Cummings up front on his own ? Cummings can't play that role.
