Exactly this. Both proven at a level higher than the SPFL. Both of whom have looked after themselves.
Defoe may be getting on in age but he sure as shit knows how to find the goal, and it also may take some pressure off Morelos. Also gives us a quality replacement for Morelos injury/suspension.
Personally I like BOTH signings, if we secure them.
Both WERE proven at a level higher than the SPFL.

If we were 10 points off the lead I doubt we'd be after them but as it stands we have a chance of winning this league and have to go for it ... otherwise what's the point of it all.
Why not sign younger players ?
Not hasbeens, past their best who can’t get a game at their clubs & looking for one last contract.

Jermain Defoe
Not a rumour, not a suggestion, but 100% club have made a move
Will speak to Frankie & tell him what I can’t publicly put
but we are in the running gents
Utter madness if we’re trying to sign both Davis & Defoe. Players in their thirties past their best with no resale value.

Not a problem. I can take him to Edinburgh ?

Does Pena need a lift to the airport? I stay only 10 mins from Glasgow.

I would imagine celtc will spend tens of millions this window.
Anything else would be job losing risky for several at their club.
I doubt if they’ll have tens of millions.
Failure to reach the CL group stages with a £60m wage bill will hit them hard.
Rangers winning the league this year could have serious financial implications for them

Kent still has a bit to prove. He had a great game on Saturday but let's not get too carried away.
If we get a good creative midfielder it could make a Hell of a difference. Steven Davis probably isn't that but he can also improve us.
Kent’s performance on Saturday will have the yahoos seriously worried.

Nonsense.
Lustig never once got that close to Kent in the first half....
Pity he was ‘injured’ and didn’t come out for the second half ??

Rangers top priority in the transfer window should be signing Ryan Kent on a permanent deal. Not signing Steven Davis or anyone else

Sky Sources: Southampton will allow Steven Davis to rejoin Rangers, if personal terms can be agreed. Davis has 6-months left on his contract, but wages may be the stumbling block.
Are Rangers genuinely interested in signing Davis ? Has there been any confirmation?
I’d take him on loan til the end of season on his £60k p.w. Southampton wage then at the end of the season decide whether to offer him a contract

Ryan Jack “arrived” a long time ago
Not sure I’d agree on that one. He’s had some fairly ineffective performances but today was his best in a Rangers jersey. Long may that continue

The biggest challenge we’ll face in this transfer window is keeping our current squad together.
We now have players who could fetch us decent transfer fees should we wish to sell. Proof we’re heading in the right direction at last

At the start of the season SG’s top priority was to get us challenging for the title. Today proved he is achieving that & more.
I cannot remember such a one-sided game against them since beating them 5-1 back in 2000.

The criticism of Jack was always bullshit. Some “fans” seem to need a scapegoat. No one deserved his goal more than him.
I’ve been a critic of Jack but I hope today marked the day he truly arrived as a Rangers player

Much will depend how we line up tomorrow.
I might be tempted to stick 4 in MF & go for 4-4-1-1. It’s vital we don’t get overrun in MF

Loans are fine if there’s a buy option at the end of the loan at a pre-agreed price.

What’s up with Grezda?

Graham Shinnie is nowhere near the calibre of player we need if we’re to seriously challenge for the title.
He is an SPL journeyman. Nothing more.

Is that possible? How many loans do we have at the moment?
I believe we’re allowed 5 loan-signings.
At present we’ve got 3 loanees: Kent, Coulibally & Worrall. Ejaria & Sadiq have either left or leaving.
That would allow us to make 2 loan signings next month should we wish to do so

I don’t think we will sign Tom Eaves who is an EFL1 player. We need better than that

Unfortunately I do believe we may sell Morelos next month & replace him with Solanke(on loan) & recall Hardie from Livi.
My other guess is we’ll get Steven Davis on loan from Southampton for the final months of his contract there.
Just guesswork. But these signings would improve us in my opinion

4-3-3 works well if you have good players to fill the roles. We don't.
I foresee our league challenge ending on Saturday. Our players looks exhausted, physically and mentally. The support is also running out of patience. Ibrox was flat today, even after we scored.
Bring in a good creative midfielder and things will improve. But the whole midfield needs an overhaul and Gerrard needs to learn a bit quicker.
The issue I’ve got with our 4-3-3( which is one up front & two wide men with three in MF) is that our three in MF ( other than Arfirld when fit) don’t score enough goals.
Regards the three today only Coulibally has scored this season. Jack & McCrorie haven’t scored yet although to be fair to McCrorie he hasn’t had as many games as the others.
Both widemen today(Middleton & Candeias) have got on the scoresheet a few times so they’ve contributed.
Morelos has, of course, been brilliant but can’t be expected to do it all on his own

Why do we need JordanJones when we’ve already got Middleton,Kent & Murphy who can play wide left?
