The truth and reality is that we are in the Championship for another year. I never at any time thought King was going to splash 50 million in one season and would be horrified if he did. Those days are over. My understanding was that he said it would take us £50 million to get back to where we were.
I am assuming that sum covers many things, such as the stadium repairs, players, management, scouting, administration etc etc.
It is also sensible to take stock of season ticket sales and crowd numbers before making any major investments. As he said, we have at least 3 transfer windows before we are back in the Premier League.
Income is also affected badly by the retail deal which sticks in everyone's craw.
I am glad to see the manager buying youngsters cheaply. I think he has the right idea and hopefully some of them will move on and give us a healthy profit. Whether they will be good enough we will just have to wait and see.
For now, I am giving the new board and management team my full backing.
