Ruth Gilfillan was booted down three ranks over Rangers 'banter' claim
Blue Moon replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think the rise of the Tories is more to do with being anti independence and the Tories being seen as the party which will defend the union. The Labour Party is gaining in support but it's perceived ambivalence towards retaining the union is holding it back. -

Roman Catholics have left the labour Party in their droves to join the SNP and I don't see them fishing for evidence of corruption by GCC. -

As adults we know when we've done something wrong, just ask Ruth Gilfillan. I think our priorities are all wrong when the burning matter of the day is to protect people from being offended, especially when one section of society (a minority one at that) defines which words or statements are deemed to be an offence. It is dreadful that people's livelihoods are affected by something they say. These so called hate laws are against freedom of speech. The laws were already there to protect people from being harmed by speech but to protect people from being offended is way too far. We should be discussing the virtues of liberalism, not making criminals of people who dare to express an opinion. There has to be a better way than this and I sincerely hope Ruth wins her case and a more appropriate solution is sought such as a warning. -

It was racial, based on Social Darwinism and the superiority of some races over others. These ideas were popular with German Nationalists long before Hitler came along and developed his "Superiority of the Master race". -

Wrong war! -
Watching Eck and Walter's teams (latterly) led me to give up my season ticket in 2008, only to return in 2012. If that is the best we can do I would have to think long and hard about renewal. I am no glory seeker but want to watch attractive, attacking football.

The only good thing I can take from this result is it will put an end to the Murty for manager shouts. He may manage us one day but not right now.
-
I hope you have a great day with your sons, John and they are as entranced as I was in the 1960's when I went to Ibrox for the first time with my lovely Dad.

If we were going to be leaving Scottish football then a boycott of away games would be fair enough. A boycott of away games to increase support of other clubs to back our case or to expect them to become more favourable towards us makes no sense whatsoever. Our argument isn't with the other clubs but with the authorities. I hope the club is working very hard behind the scenes to put pressure on the SFA. This compliance officer nonsense has gone on long enough. On another note, until someone has the bottle to call out the influence of Celtic minded people in the media and within the footballing authorities nothing will change. The role of the media is crucial here. The dominance of those with links to Celtic or Celtic sympathies is beyond acceptable and way beyond understanding. In the natural order of a meritocracy, their employment would be a fraction of what it is, never mind almost total domination. Sadly Scotland is no longer a meritocracy but is rotten with nepotism. These are the things that are battling against Rangers every time we step out onto the park. The referees can be totally incompetent and there will be no support from anywhere. A Rangers player should have been sent off and there is trial by Sutton et alia at BT, supported by English and Mclaughlin at the BBC and of course The Daily Record. Enter the CO. It is pathetic. Pedro has been hung out to dry by the club until the statement yesterday. Time for everyone at the club to do their job. At the moment there is no level playing field.

Typical deflect headline from them.

JMc, I didn't say he had a preference for Celtic, I said he was intimidated into overlooking things on the park by CFC and a compliant media.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that there is a match official conspiracy against us. That sounds like paranoia off the scale. I watched the match after we got home last night and every decision we thought CT got wrong TV evidence showed he did get wrong. It goes against the law of averages that a match official would make so many wrong decisions to the advantage of one team. The ref had a stinker. Are we becoming so used to this that we aren't even discussing this performance? Even Andy Walker made reference to several of his mistakes. In CT's case, every mistake he has made against Celtic has been picked over for weeks on end by Rodgers and the Celtic acolytes in the press. That is CT's problem, not the fact he is a crap ref because he would be crap to both sides and yesterday he certainly wasn't.

We both thought the linesman got it wrong. Windass was offside but didn't go for the ball .
-
To be honest, but for Beaton we probably would be sitting on 7 points.

That was so depressing today. The team were totally flat from the off. To be honest, the fans were flat too. I thought Jack had a good game and Tav and Candeias seem to be striking up a good partnership. Morelos worked his socks off. Like others I was baffled by the subs. Miller should have gone and Kranjcar isn't remotely fit. I agree with the previous comment about showboating. Dorrans has been a bit disappointing and looks off the pace, although we did miss him when he went off. Was he injured? We completely lacked any spark or creativity today which is concerning so early in the season. I am beginning to get the fear that we will struggle to qualify for Europe. The centre of our defence is lacking in pace and will cost us goals.

It has had a change to an SNP supporting editor but has always favoured the Edinburgh clubs anyway.

I read on here yesterday that the police are not taking any action because there has been no crime committed.
-
I've watched this several times and I don't know where you get that from. To me, it shows Jack as the victim and the only one who moves his head forward is Stokes.

Who were the 2 suited gentlemen who went to bring Lennon off the park after he went over to the Hibs fans?
-
Lennon faced the Rangers crowd. If he was celebrating he would be facing the park, celebrating with his team and supporters. He made a gesture to the fans which was not celebratory and cupped his hands to his ears. This is being minimised as celebrating. It wasn't. He was taunting the Rangers fans and should have more self control. I am very surprised and relieved no-one went for him.

He has been reported to police for sure by a number of fans from the main stand.
