  1. I was referring to the 70's but the same people still retain the same views today. Despite our political differences and the fact I rarely see them I am glad to say we have a deep bond that will never be broken based on our mutual love of our football team and so many shared experiences.
  2. I was speaking from personal experience when I said I was in the minority. I lived in a well known mining village and we were one of a very few families who displayed Labour posters at election time. For the rest it was an identity thing and they voted Tory. The same was true in the supporters club I was a member of. I will leave it there as I have to go out.
  3. These are some of the more concerning issues I was referring to.
  4. There have always been divisions and majority and minority opinions. I used to be in the minority as a left wing socialist and fought my corner like a lion. It makes no difference to the fact we are all Rangers supporters, nor should it.
  5. We don't live in a vacuum and are a reflection of our times. To say our support is divided on political grounds is true of every support anywhere. I don't see why we can't have a civilised discussion relating to the thread. For what it's worth I believe there are more serious issues around than the one we are discussing.
  6. I should have said West Central Scotland. My apologies.
  7. Twitter it is infested with SNP supporters of Irish republican background who despise Britain and would like nothing better than to see the UK break up, not because of feelings of patriotism towards Scotland. They despise Rangers fans too. The SNP elected officials in Central Scotland are by and large the same. If you despise me I will not have warm feelings towards you. Don't tell me the party is different because this is the party, that is what it is like. I am well aware that the Labour Party in the West of Scotland was the same but not where I live. I hate identity politics but this is not of my creation.
  8. I have never been a British Nationalist until the UK came under threat. I want to retain the union therefore some would say I am a Nationalist. Without the threat to break up the UK it would never have entered my head. I have always seen myself as Scottish and British. I would suggest it is the case on these pages because the majority feel the same as I do.
  9. I haven't read back so apologies if any of this has been said. Overall I am not too disappointed. We defended very well. The inexperience of the team showed and I think we were a bit overawed at times but we didn't implode like previous seasons. I am also sure that tiredness was a factor. We will grow from this and by the time we play them again we will have a few months of playing together under our belt. I was disappointed with the starting line up and hoped to see Candeias starting as he takes the pressure off Tav. I thought Kent should have gone at half time and Arfield was very disappointing. The manager was far too late with his subs and I hope he learns much from this experience today.
  10. I am so looking forward to tomorrow because for the first time in years we have a real chance to compete and take something from this game. I want to see Broonaldo chasing shadows.
  11. I am really excited by the Gredza signing. Looking forward to seeing him play. Delighted about Worral. We really need that cover.
  12. What a brilliant result from us. I was at work so couldn't watch it but will tonight with a wee glass. This is brilliant for our club in every way. Over the moon tonight.
  13. Individual errors and poor performances aside, I don't think Motherwell at Fir park is the place to experiment with the back line. I thought we were fairly comfortable in the second half until SG took Barisic off, it should have been Flanagan. From then on we had nothing going forward and were constantly on the back foot. I hope the manager learns from this today.
  14. Just watched the highlights on youtube. Tremendous play by Morelos.
  15. I haven't seen it again but from memory Goldson and McGregor were between the player and the goal. Having said that, it was a challenge he was never going to win. Needs to do better.
  16. That was a phenomenal second half performance last night. I can't remember the last time we left Ibrox on such a high. The atmosphere was electric. This is the stage and the standard we were accustomed to and the performance reinvigorated the Ibrox roar which in turn must transfer to the players. In terms of moving forward, apart from the obvious striker, I would like to see us signing a creative midfielder.
  17. Given his pace and goal scoring ability I expected more from Josh than he could deliver, I'm afraid.
  18. The numbers being quoted for these guys are a joke. We shouldn't be selling our assets cheaply.
  19. I remember saying to my other half that I had never seen the 4th official influence a decision in a game before but it had happened twice to us. One was on 25th October 2017 when Ryan Jack was sent off against Kilmarnock on the say so of the 4th official after a clash with Kirk Broadfoot. I am still searching for the second one!
  20. CFC have made an art form of putting pressure on refs. We should be saying publicly that we note the ref is an ex St Mirren player and hope that doesn't influence his performance.
  21. Think it happened twice last season.
  22. Did anyone question what he was saying?
  23. Having watched the highlights on Sportscene I think jack took an elbow to the head.
  24. Delighted by the application and performance today but gutted not to take all 3 points. What a vast improvement. It is depressing to see so many decisions going against us on the back of last years horrendous refereeing.
  25. This witch hunt needs to end here and now. Why are the other clubs permitting this to happen?
