That was a slog. Delighted with the 3 points but not with the prosect of Roofe and Lundstram being injured leaving us woefully short up front and midfield. How the ref could think the challenge on Lundstram was a yellow card is mind boggling.

That was a struggle but not surprising after Thursday night but we kept plugging away and found a bit of form later in the match. I am delighted for Tav to win the cup for us. They didn't trouble us and didn't create a single chance from memory. Well done to everyone at the club. Michael Stewart is an absolute disgrace. His bigotry and bias are insufferable.

There are a few candidates this week. I thought Cifuentes had his best half for us, Butland was impeccable, Sterling was superb and Sima was terrific but commentators reckon Betis lost the midfield and therefor the match so my vote goes to Lundstram. Outstanding. Forgot about Dessers. Best game for us.

Last night's result will be a massive boost for the players. It certainly is for the fans. We've got to be at it from the whistle. Let's do this Rangers.

Some positives to take from the game for me. Cantwell playing a bit deeper last night was more like his old self in chasing the ball down. He was all over the park and worked his socks off. Cifuentes did better. I like the way he can nick the ball back without giving away too many fouls. He has an eye for a pass too. If we could do something about his pace we might have a player there. Sima's goal, Butland's saves and a workhorse performance from Lundstram were all key in the game. We need a quality striker. We will never know until we see Shankland in a blue jersey whether he has what it takes to play for us. We need someone to take some of these chances we are creating and can't rely on Sima alone for the rest of the season.

I will give this one a miss. A friendly in the depths of January holds no attraction whatsoever.

Normal service is resumed, Todd Cantwell for his all round play and 2 assists and his positive reaction from Thursday night. Sima did well with the 2 goals but his overall play wasn't great.

I am so pleased to see Cantwell and Lawrence come onto a game today. What a difference it makes to us.

I fear if we play with 10 men again today we will be lucky to scrape a draw. I was willing to give Lammers a lot of time but he really is as bad as they come. Utterly clueless. The manager is in danger of staking his reputation on him.
